Is there any reason I can't connect my mechanical boost/vacuum gauge with a "T" to the intake manifold side of my catch can? I have the UPR can and it sure would make for clean installation. Thanks

As it turns out, it seems to work just fine. I'll add some pics when I finish the install

Nice! Is the UPR kit plug and play?

Yes it is plug and play. High quality hoses and connectors make it simple to install (and remove if necessary when taking it in for service). No hose clamps! First time installing is a little tricky but the manufacture has a very good video on removing the stock short hose and dealing with the snap-on connectors which you can't see.

While I wait for my cubby trim plate to arrive, I mounted the gauge using 1 inch thick, high density electrostatic packing foam. Made it a little oversized to squeeze into cubby hole. Used a 2 1/8" hole saw bit to drill a slightly larger hole than the 2" required to allow for compression. Unless the plastic trim plate looks significantly better, I my just leave it as-is.

I like it! So you have it in the cubby next to the radio?

Looks great! I have the UPR 2 can kit as well, love it! 2 questions. I guess you’re on the outlet side of the can and how often do you empty them? I’m going about 1k miles but not getting much to drain and have been wondering how long I could go?

You have a line from downstream of your turbo to a catch can? What am I missing here? That is just pressurized clean air.

FHFR3Maverick: Yes, it is connected to the Outlet side which connects to the Intake Manifold port. After a 1000 miles since the catch can was installed, I only have a trace of oil (approx. 3K miles on the engine). However, my driving has been extremely conservative. Only a few full throttle moments, so far.

Tiger Dude: There is a Crankcase Vent Oil Separator located on the side of the block buried behind the Intake Manifold (See Item 15). That small twisted hose is connected to a full vacuum/boost port on the Intake Manifold. The "dirty side" catch can assembly replaces that hose. Some folks have also installed a second "clean side" catch can which replaces the PVC valve to Intake Duct hose (pre turbo).

One thing I'm going to add to this installation will be additional support on the "T" side of the catch can. Never liked the single mounting hole idea for this assembly, and especially now with the weight of the outlet hose moved further away from the mount point. Temporally, I'm using zip-ties but will eventually make a second bracket to attach to the fender.
