I've got the small version of the Yakima pad. It seems to have just enough space on each side to allow the tailgate to close with the tonneau employed.

That looks like a nice set up. Is the back up camera usable with the flap Up? I'm trying to decide between the Yakima and the Race Face T2.

I have the Raceface. I think both are great pads. Some differences I've noticed: RF uses 4 straps, Yak uses 3. RF has 2 removable pads covering the latch and backup camera, Yak uses a flap. RF has thick pads on front, Yak doesn't but I believe the whole front is thinly padded. RF uses plastic and velcro to secure bike to pad, Yak uses aluminum buckles. Personally I prefer the look of the Raceface and the metal buckles of the Yakima. Can't go wrong with either.

Yes backup camera visible with flap up. The only downside is Yakima doesn't seem to have a way to secure the flap up. I just tuck it in but eventually it flops back down...

I have a nice name brand pad that fits a full size truck. And honestly its a pain in the butt to use. Having to fish the straps under the tailgate and back up to the pad to secure it, it blocks the backup camera unless I pull down a little flap.

So I got to looking for one narrow enough to use on the maverick, and everything I found was close to $200...

So I decided to try something... I took a thick moving blanket, folded it twice and threw it over the tailgate and dropped the bicycles over it. And what do you know... It worked just fine. Bikes didn't move a inch, blanket stayed put, bike tires didn't touch the paint and the tailgate didn't get any scratches or dents etc... If only hauling one or two bikes I can fold the blanket a time or two more so it only covers half of the tailgate so I can still see out of the backup camera.

I wouldn't spend $20 much less $200 on a actual tailgate pad after seeing how well and how easy a moving blanket works.
