The EGR’s are solid rather than smoke right? I want to be able to see through mine.
EGR makes both, can't see through the black at all.

Thought I would follow up in case anyone else sees this thread when searching for threads about window vents. I returned the set I ordered from the Ford Motor Company Official eBay store. I also contacted that store to try and determine if it is truly a site operated by Ford. They replied that yes they are officially part of Ford. Of course I am relying on them telling me the truth. I tend to think they are because I ordered a new set of Ford OEM window vents from an actual Ford dealership and what I received was the exact same thing and of course they do not line up properly as Is depicted in all of the Ford accessory pictures. The only thing I can come up with is that Ford changed providers of these from the originals when the Maverick came out and the current versions simply install higher and on the paint rather than on the black trim. This makes them unacceptable for me because they completely mess up the natural lines of the doors and windows. Attaching a photo showing where the front end of these have to be installed in order for the back end to line up with the edge of the door. So now I will be on the hunt for something else. I will definitely be looking at the EGR vents several people suggested on this thread. I also intend to try and find the AVS versions that are on RealTruck YouTube videos because those look like the original OEM visors which is more the look I am seeking.

One more update. I ordered the AVS version from @Realtruck because their pictures as well as the installation instruction video showed the original version that lines up correctly and has that additional molding detail curve on the B-pillar ends front and back. Well surprise, even the AVS version has changed and matches the first two sets I had to return. It just doesn’t make sense to me. So I’m returning those too. I haven’t decided yet if I’m just going to go without or get the EGR in channel versions that so many of you recommend. thanks for everyone’s comments and recommendations.

There must be a reason.🤔
I have to say, I like my EGR is better than the WeatherTechs I've had.
Good luck.

I will add EGR rear vents come with tape already applied. The fronts are held in place with pressure from the form of the vent.
That being said if you're the kind of guy who uses suspenders along with a belt, you can put some 3m double-sided tape on the outside facing side of the in-channel part.
Exactly the same as you see with the rear vents

I have to ask. Why did you want to stay with stick-on vents VS in-channel ?

That’s a good question. I like the look of the original OEMs the best I guess. But the in channel versions have that section that comes straight down to the edge of the door. That section always bugged me a little when I had WeatherTech on my previous trucks. And the in channel versions eventually started scratching the windows at the top edge from dirt getting in there over time. I know the in channel versions have advantages for sure but those couple of things deter me from going that route again.

The in-channel vents do require a little maintenance after a dust storm.
I do not remove anything. Soak a rag with some water and I use a credit card to push the rag into the inside part of the channel and clean away any grit. It is the same grit that is there without the vent in place. You just don't hear it, because the dirt and grit is pushed into the soft material.
Good luck

FWIW, I bought a pair from Ford's accessory site for the Explorer and they look exactly like the OP's. They too had poor fitment. In fact, one of them already fell off.

I just haven't gotten around to ordering some good ones.
