We just traded our 2020 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk on a 2024 Maverick XLT Hybrid to use as our motorhome "toad." Big change, but we just switch from a 39' diesel pusher to a Class B+ on a Ford chassis with V6 EcoBoost, so had to lighten the toad a bunch, and since my wife is all done with "Jeeping," this little gas-sipped fits the bill.

First thing to order is a base-plate for towing the Mav, and after reading info posted here, I've already ordered a Demco and scheduled an installation for next week. But the wife insists we add a tonneau cover, and I see the value of that. etralier.com lists a bunch of these, and all appear to be within my ability to install... without drilling. But which to choose?? What have others here chosen, and why? Also, what was your source? All suggestions welcome!

In my searching, I've come up with another question, actually. I'm asking myself if I ought to select a cover that has the ability to accommodate the addition of racks. For instance, I have an old canoe I've revitalized and hope to take out and test myself with. A rack at the back plus some kind of rack on the cab should enable loading and hauling the canoe or other fun stuff. Anyone have that kind of tonneau cover?

I’ve got the BAK X4s hard rollup. On the Mav is my second one, the other was on a Ridgeline. They’re great… very versatile. Good luck with what ever you choose.

Thank you! I'm amazed at the huge number of different brands and models of covers available.

I have the Ford hard tri folding tonneau which is a rebadged BAKFlip MX4. It is a great cover. Even supports weight on top.

I'm on a tighter budget than usual right now, but I wanted to make sure I had a cover with how much rain we get down here in the Houston area. I got this OEDRO hard trifold based on reading other forums on here (1, 2) about tonneau options. Was on sale a couple weeks ago for $405. Easy to install, fits well, and minimal leaks even with record rainfall this last month. No idea how it will hold up, but I don't see anything that's a major red flag at this point.

I'm torn between two options:
Truxedo Pro X-15 soft rollup
Tonno Pro Lo-roll soft rollup

I've had Truxedo tonneaus before and they're typically great, I see no reason that the X-15 wouldn't continue that trend but it's around $800 here in Canada.
The Tonno Pro also gets good reviews although it isn't quite as attractive and probably lacks some refinement but it's $350.

A hard cover provides better security but the hard rollups are $1500-1600... Are they two to four times as good as a soft rollup for my use?
Probably not, I don't park outside overnight and rarely keep valuables in the truck anyways. I'm just looking to keep things dry and keep snow out of the bed in winter.

Looks awesome. I just ordered the same one after deciding to not spend $1100 - $1500 on one

Hope you like it! I've had it for 3 mos. and can't believe it's as cheap as it was. It's holding up great and has been a lifesaver for hauling everyday stuff like groceries. Only place it really leaks is the little channels built into the topside of the bed, so not an issue with the tonneau itself. I just haven't put any 3m foam tape or anything else in there thus far because it's minimal water during really heavy rain.

I just installed the Rough Country low profile hard tonneau cover this evening. I really like the look and fit. Time will tell how it holds up...
