It was mostly downhill for about 15 miles. Still, nice to see this much potential MPGs!

To be fair, here's the reading going back up hill on the same route round-trip:

So I guess the average MPG is like 53ish? Big difference in MPGs and amount of electric miles going uphill versus downhill, as expected.

All in ECO mode.

Not bad. My 1 cent is anything under 1h driving is in slippery mode. Over 1h in eco. Difference when your dash showing hybrid you will see blue box that gives electric boost while under constant speed. Post result for your slippery mode.

Next time I do this drive I'll try it in Slippery mode to see if there's any significant difference.

Your round-trip MPG was 40.8 MPG.

You used 0.53 gallons going uphill and you used 0.182 gallons going downhill.

0.712 gallons used for 29.1 miles round trip.

( to double your uphill MPG you'd need to use zero on the way down )

😎

Not meant to discourage. I generally find gentle hills a slight advantage.

So the real question is:

Is 40.8 a little higher than average for you?

My first tank was about 13 gallons for 455 miles driven, so around 35 MPG. Still learning how to use a hybrid as efficiently as possible but I usually cruise around 70-80 on highway.

Wow 53 avg going up and down is pretty good. Do you baby it or just drive normal on eco

Filled my tank yesterday. Started out at miles to empty = 506. By the time I got home it was miles to empty = 527 after driving about 20 miles. I swear I didn't see any gas spilling out the fill tube.

I hate to quote the Top Gun...... But... "it's not.... It's a pilot". Only 37.75 mpg it's my wife first time driving my hybrid. On interstate with 70-80mph. She doesn't know magic of COASTING. it's true calculations based on full tank and tachometer information.
