Hi Guys/Gals,

A potential deal came up for me to pick up a smaller enclosed subwoofer.

I don't have my truck yet, so I am curious if anyone has the sizing of the available space behind the bench backseat?

The sizing I read online for the sub is:

Width (inches) 19-1/8
Height (inches) 11-1/4
Depth (inches) 6-1/2

Is that too big to fit?

Thanks!

Regardless of size, I already know mine will be full of tangled bungee cords and ratchet straps.

I put a shoebox back there that is 14”x14”x5.5” to show you what it fits like…. The bottom has a little more space, but with 5+ inches as high as the box goes, the seat won’t close - see video

The space behind the seat is pretty tight near the top unless the box tapers. I don't have a Maverick to confirm sizes but the Rockford Fosgate R2S loaded enclosure get pretty slim at the top

10" - 13.5" H x 19.0" L x 5.25" (bottom) x 3.25" (top)
12" - 13.5" H x 27.375" L x 5.25" (bottom) x 3.25" (top)

Unfortunately not many prebuilt, unloaded enclosures get quite that narrow so I might have to roll my own or cut down a box.

Some actual measurements of the space available would be appreciated for those of us still waiting, though.

Is it a consistent depth of 6 1/2" or does it taper to a narrower depth? The later may work behind the seat but I'm not positive.

I did have to remove this seat support to get the subwoofer in, but that's because of the 12" width.
11-1/4" width I think would fit right in without removal of the support bracket.

The Sub I was looking at potentially getting doesn't taper, unfortunately.

This is what I might get as a used one came up at a good deal.

It sounds like under the seat would be the best option then.

If I also need to remove the bracket does the seat still sit firm with the latching bracket removed?

Thanks for the detailed info.

Also unfortunately these RF primes don’t seem to hold up, but I’m sure it’ll fit…. The kicker 48tcwrt102 would work (with the amp bracket taken off) if it didn’t have the passive radiator

these are the dimensions I came up with for my custom box (after trying a few other test fits)for what I’m hoping with be my final solution (will run across left side of rear wall) but the sub face will have to be offset towards the passenger side (because of that damn support rod/bar that slightly protrudes out the back about 17-18 inches from the passenger side plastic trim edge)

If you're comfortable giving up one of the storage bins, underseat mounting should work based on those dimensions though.

Here are the dimensions of the 10" Kicker L7T that I made work in mine.

Width (inches) 20-1/4"
Height (inches) 12"
Depth (inches) 7-1/4" max tapers down to 4-3/8"

Damn tho now you’ve got me tempted to put that 48tcwrt102 like that…. It’s like 11.88 but is like 23.5 wide (sounds damn good tho, been swapping back and forth between that and a box that didn’t end up working that I have a hertz CS250 S2 in…. Final box that I’m working on will have an Audison APS 10D)

What's the width available on the driver's side? I'm probably going to leave the B&O components on the pass. side of mine and am considering this box even if I need to have the seatback latch a bit more vertical by adding some spacers to the latches.

If you don’t have that black box (can’t remember what it’s for) then it’s somewhere around 11 inches wide (was looking at putting a shallow 8 there but now it’s housing my amp rack)

Are you putting a shallow 10” or 12” in this box? I am considering building a box out of fiberglass to get a little more airspace. Thank you for these dimensions, that gives me a great starting point.

I don't remember the thread where I saw these measurements but I copied them down because I had thought about putting my sub back there.

Behind the seat Width: 18"? Height: 12.5" Upper Depth: 3.5" Lower Depth: 5.5"

I think the question mark on the 18" width was due to some trucks having the rear slider window motor in the way, I believe the post mentioned that without a power slider it will allow wider boxes.

I went with a .46cu ft box underneath. You would need to go custom to get a decent sub on the back wall. And the prices were outrageous so I went basic sealed.
