"Top" I think the sleep mode also includes a time factor in addition to the 12V battery charge. Or we're all just guessing how the puzzle works? I also use the battery tender when im not going to be driving the Mav for awhile.

Ken, I may have read about that somewhere on our forum. These vehicles are too complicated. KISS principle is not a part of the Ford mantra. I go out there in the middle of the afternoon, sometimes truck is clicking/clacking. Maybe its a demon. All I can do is keep battery tender on it and hope for the best. This battery issue has been around since day one on these trucks. If these smart software types haven't fixed it by now, something is wrong. Their bosses need to give them the ultimatum. "You get 30 days, fix or fired". Got to be some new kids out there wanting a good job. If they were in the military it would be ugly for them way before now, can't have this kind of stupid when people are counting on the equipment to perform, combat, or peace time. I'll go do my pushups now!

You got me laughing & smiling now Top. Agree 110% on everything you said. The KISS principal disappeared about the time Elvis last left the bldg. I'm picturing a young Mechanic in the motor pool telling the Staff Sergeant he can't fix the jeep cuz he'd get his hands dirty... Now Im really laughing . Give me a Buck for everytime I dropped for 50, especially in AIT in 67'. And that TA50-901 gear on my back was quite heavy. Dang it Top, I'm just old school, raised in simple times.
