I just purchased the ReTraxPro XR Manual retractable cover with the T-slot rails - I will lose 11” of usable bed space hope to get it in the next few days I like that the top of this retractable cover can be used for loads up to 500 pounds and the rails allow you to install compatible components

I just placed an order for a bed cover for my newly delivered 2025 Maverick Lariat AWD Hybrid (RTX-T-80337 Retrax Pro XR Manual Retractable Tonneaux Cover w/T-Slot Rails) a little pricey but I needed something lockable, a dry bed, usable space on top of deck up to 500 lbs and the T-slot rails allow me to install other components e.g. carrier, kayak rack etc hoping it meets my expectations should arrive in a few days
I do want T-slot cover for possible future rack add-on, but will probably just want roll up as the retractable type seems to take up more space in an already too small bed, and when I went to a dealer where the demo covers were outside all 3 of his retractable brands were frozen and could not be opened- dont want that- good luck.

The one I purchased takes up 11” of the bed which is a lot of space but not a deal breaker for me and how I intend to use this vehicle

To make sure things stay dry I purchased a Plano 108 quart wheeled storage box from Amazon. I bungee it in, and it is easy to use.
They offer many different colors, sizes and styles. However, many people just use heavy duty garbage bags.
In rain and low pressure washings, I have had just a few drops of water come in the bed. I have a Truxedo soft roll top.

  1. Easy to open, lightweight as wife can't lift much, and should be openable with the tailgate up
Based on this statement, I suggest doing two things. First, (if you haven't already) visit a dealer and have your wife open and close the tailgate. The Maverick tailgate is extremely light compared to previous trucks I've had and it might be light enough for her.

Second, see if you can find a Maverick with a trifold of whatever style (hard or soft) that you're considering and have your wife open and fold the cover, then secure it in place. That will ensure she can handle the full-size weight of the panels and has the reach to secure it in place.

I discovered the importance of that after putting an UltraFlex hard folding cover on my old F-350. The height of the bed, combined with the aggregate weight of the panels made it a workout to fully fold. I could do it (with effort), but my wife would never have been able to open and fold it.

I have the Retrax Pro with T slots and it leaked very bad from everywhere, side rails and slots. I opened a warranty claim and they sent me a new canister. It still leaks up front but not as bad. The drain tubes are crap, had to silicone them in place and ran my own to the bottom corners of the bed. I also sealed the bottom of the canister on each side. In freezing temps I can’t open it. Overall I do like it but for the price I should went with for a folding one.

Thank you very much for your comments and information - I definitely will do a through quality inspection before doing the installation hopefully living in Florida I won’t ever have to deal with a freezing issue

Hey all!
Sorry for yet another thread on bed covers but digging through older threads I didn't see anything recent for what I am seeking.

We want to use the truck bed for carrying stuff on vacation or even just grocery runs so figured a cover is in order. We are looking for the following things in order of priority.
  1. Good waterproofing(some drops in corners or near tailgate is fine but don't want soaked groceries)
  2. Easy to open, lightweight as wife can't lift much, and should be openable with the tailgate up.
  3. under 700$

Based on looking around it would seem like a soft cover trifold would probably be my best bet but even then there is tons of options. So any recommendations for covers that would fit the above that you have and love?

Thanks!
Undercover used to make a one-piece that opened with the tailgate up, but i don't think they make if for the Maverick. The only thing I can think of is a soft snap-down cover. Does not secure anything, and "kinda" keeps the rain off of your stuff ;) Best of luck!
