Bed Light Control

Found out today that I was driving around during the day with the bed light on. I haven't paid any attention to the switch since I got the truck, and as far as I can see, there is no way of knowing whether it is on or off during the day except walking around to the back of the truck and looking at the light. There is no pilot light on the switch, and I can't see any indicator on the instrument display. Finding out the light was on was like finding that I have been walking around with my fly open.

OK, Just got my truck last night - and cam on line to ask the same question. When I open any door, the truck bed light goes on and I'm manually turning it off via truck bed. Is there a setting to tune this option off... I stare into a computer screen all day so I'm too tire to search in the manual. Hoping someone has a answer

It should turn off the instant you lock the truck, otherwise it should time out with the rest of your lights. Are you leaving it unlocked?

If you only want it to come on when you say so, I don't see anything in the manual to indicate this is an option. Perhaps it's something you can control via Forscan.

Cheers! Yes I lock it and it does turn off after a bit of time - really an odd feature.

On a side note: this thing makes some really odd noises after shutdown!.

I think the delayed bed light is on purpose, and the idea is that you're likely to get stuff out of the bed after you've exited and locked the cab. I know I find it useful when I'm camping and get to the site after dark.
The clacking is certainly a bit disconcerting at first, but you'll get used to it. Even as an engineer I have no idea what it might be doing (and for that matter AFAICT noone here has had any theories either). I guess that means the truck is smarter than I am ....

This is your first hybrid I take it. Yes, after you shut down, a hybrid can still be clicking and buzzing up to 45 minutes after shut down. Don't be concerned.

Like other vehicles, every light turns on when you shut down and exit the vehicle, then times out.

Not too good for sneaking up on game at night in the woods or nighttime home robberies.
