Avoid Envision Ford of Oxnard! Maverick Got Marked Up 3k

Do you (or wife) have a lot of time?

Can you "camp" out with a lawn chair and umbrella on the public sidewalk or drive / entrance with a picket sign? After an hour or two or three it won't be fun / funny for them anymore. Bet they sell at MSRP to make you go away.

You can even get satisfaction by warning others on the way in. Scare away other buyers.

I have to think if I'm actually up for that but thought of it made me chuckle haha.

Lol I live down the street from Envision, when the orders opened last year I called them and they were completely up front with me that I can order with them but they would market adjust it when it showed up. So I drove 30 miles to Vista Ford Woodland Hills to place my 2 orders which have both arrived at MSRP with 2022 price protection. Why on earth did you still order trough envision?

We have tons of dealers around here but can any can be trusted? I want to find a good dealer in So Cal but I may go out of state for the next car purchase.

Just down the 101 freeway vista Ford let me order for MSRP. I was happy with getting my Maverick from them. Try Vista when the order banks open back up.

Surprisingly a couple of my friends had recommended them to me. I think they were still Vista Ford of Oxnard when my friends had purchased vehicles there. Anyways it was a stupid decision to purchase from them.

How are we supposed to know. I bought from Aaron Ford in Poway and Penske in La Mesa (right b4 they were sold) I spent hours in both showrooms to buy my Special Orders. Penske hung on to it for a week saying it needed PDI. I finally went camping in the showroom. Aaron Ford Jacked the price double trying to scare me away. More showroom camping while calling Ford. Both dealers hacked up my wiring for a Karr Alarm without asking. If fact one told me it was required by the GM.

My wife and I both ordered Mavericks from Envision Ford of Oxnard back in September 2022. An XL Ecoboost for me and an XL Hybrid for my lady. We had agreed on paying MSRP for both vehicles when we were placing our pre-orders and I have a signed document to show for that. But when the order banks opened they told us that we had to sign a document stating the price was TBD or else they wouldn't place our orders. With all the craziness going on with the order banks that week I wasn't sure we would be able to get our orders in with another dealership so I panicked and we signed their price TBD agreement. I know stupid of me. The Ecoboost I ordered was delivered in May. They slapped a paint protection product called SurfaceCARE on the truck before they even called me to tell me the vehicle had been delivered. They tried charging us $1500 for the SurfaceCARE which we eventually negotiated down to $900. Pretty ticked off about it but they were ready and hoping we would walk away from the truck so we had to bite the bullet and cough up an extra $900. I found an old post here on Maverick Truck Club of another customer that got screwed over last year by Envision Ford of Oxnards SurfaceCARE scam.

Moving on to my wife's order. The Hybrid Maverick order status just changed to shipped about a week ago. Today the Sales rep from the dealership gave me a call saying that his sales manager decided to mark up all Mavericks orders by 3k. The reasoning he provided was that the vehicle is in high demand and they can sell it for more. My response was "No shit, that's why we ordered our trucks 10 months ago so we wouldn't have to deal with markups." I told the sales rep they're going to get a lot of shitty reviews that will hurt their business and he said that they already have shitty reviews and their business is doing great. The nerve of these people.

I don't think we have any negotiation leverage with these guys if writing shitty reviews of their business isn't getting us anywhere. Maybe we should call out the sales rep by name in the reviews and then he'll actually try to do something about it?

Is there a list of dealerships to avoid? If there is such a list I need to add Envision Ford of Oxnard.

Call fords head quarters in Dearborn Michigan that will get a crack down on them.

I cannot agree with the negative assessment of Envision enough. Just picked up my Lariat last night (August 2023), ordered in September 2022. They tried - VERY HARD - to convince us we had to pay for the $1,500 SufaceCARE scam. We offered to lawyer-up. I cannot tell you how insulted I am that they they altered my vehicle without my knowledge, let alone permission, and had the gall to try to charge me for it!

Ultimately they removed the charge. I know they would have been thrilled to have me reject delivery, as a Z-Plan customer. Growing up in Dearborn, I am used to A/Z-Plan customers (i.e., family) being treated exceptionally well. The treatment we received from management was disgusting.

We are considering options on how to best ensure the word gets around, and especially to those in the Glass House. This dealership is unworthy of carrying the Ford name.

The salesperson and finance staff we dealt with were lovely - but management is sleazy and utterly unethical. Avoid this dealership at all costs!

If you have any ideas on how to get the word out count me in! Out of curiosity was your Maverick a hybrid? The eco boost I ordered got hit with the surface care and the hybrid my wife ordered they straight up hit us with a $2,500 markup.

I will definitely keep folks posted. I have the EcoBoost - required because we got the 4k tow package. Also, we went with the black package…. So NO cloth on the interior.
