How do I insure the power to this outlet is off everytime I turn off the ignition. Sometimes yes sometimes no. Then my Go Pro keeps running and drains the battery.

It shuts off automatically after a while, I haven't tested how long but I've heard people say about an hour

The time to shut off can vary depending on SOC of 12v. Seems like 90 minutes at 12.4 or greater shorter time if less down to 0 minutes near 11.9-12.1 but may take a few minutes for 12v soc to settle.

I have not tried this but if you lock the truck with the remote AND PUSH THE LOCK BUTTON TWICE! The dash immediately goes dark and the exterior lights immediately turn off the anti theft alarm is set. The horn honks once. Maybe the power points are also immediately turned off also. Just have to try it with a light on plugged into power port you can see through window.
