Not all tailgate assists are very slow, in fact on my Ram it goes quite quickly and then progressively becomes slower at the end of its stroke.
You mean a damper. A dampener would be something that gets you wet.
LOL, but they can both be used interchangeably, just depending on context.
Sometimes the thoughts of you twelve year olds blows my mind. It's a truck. A low price truck. Not a car, not a $50000 dollar truck. And I know some of you loaded it up. But it still is not a 50000 to 80000 dollar truck. Get over yourselves.

Outside of that, I agree.

Yeah, Dampener is the name I danced under in college.

I think the fact that so many people on this forum don't actually have their truck yet makes them a little uptight. If you don't agree with the OP query, just move on.

We know the Ranger unlock actuator can be easily installed. Just need another truck with an opener actuator that you can pilfer the parts from.

Ford solutions certainly exist...

As do (ugly) 3rd party

Anything is doable. Challenge is getting the trucklette!

I've looked into this and it should be easy to use an Amazon interior door lock actuator or 2 mounted inside the tailgate wired to a switch inside the cab. Maybe I'll hide the switch so you can only physically push it with the drivers door open or else tie it to accessory power and some parking interlock if that exists.

Making it work off the key fob and the rear lariat lock wiring is the tricky part. I'll have to have my truck on hand to figure that out 🤣

Anyone come up with a clever solution to this yet?
