Hi just had a ARE V cap installed this the first rainy day
I found the front corners leaking
Any one else with this problem
Or do I need to go back to the installer
Trux outfitters in oneonta ny
Unfortunately for me they said it’s the first one they installed
They were done unusually quick
That worried me
I have seen install videos online the front requires double rubber strip
I don’t think there is any rubber strips any where
Any suggestions
Outside of a large water tote cargo bag

Ok cap is resealed and not leaking
But the plastic trim attached to the bed
The cap sits on leaks
Does ford fix this or does anyone ha any other options
Thanks

Definetly go back to them and say it is leaking and ask if they placed rubber seals. The ARE caps themselves usually have lifetime structural warranty so if the cap is defective they will get you a new one. Also definetly post pictures of the cap on your truck please!

Yeah stinks but go back to the dealer. I had one leaker on a 150 and they just used the wrong seal up front. With the right hoist and whatnot took them less than 10 minutes to fix. Good luck!

Go back to your dealer/installer. Mine was installing this one but guaranteed they would fix if it leaked. 2 weeks and 4" of rain so far and we're still dry!

Ok the cap is still leaking around the cap seals which got worse , I went back to the installer they spent 1 1/2 hours trying to seal it .
they said it’s a maverick problem. Is anyone having this problem or are my installers just not getting it right
should I contact ARE

Its a integrated bed issue really. Its one reason why I heavily considered the GFC camper topper since it extends over the cab gap. One spot to look at is where the bed rail cap has a dip or gap in its level plane. Its towards the front. Some of the tonnaou people have had to install a thin strip of foam that fits that gap. Its one spot where water could be coming in. Beyond that we may have to end up with a window drain mod for toppers. I just ordered a MX topper. We will be installing it right after picking our Tremor up and will be taking it to Maui where there are no service dealers. So we will be on our own. I think there will be a solution presenting itself once enough heads look at the issue.
