Like many of you, I've hit my one year milestone of Maverick ownership at the 16,350 mile mark.
Still love my EB FWD just as much as the day I brought it home! Consistently getting 28-29mpg city and 33mpg highway, with the one exception of getting an awesome tailwind coming home from a GA roadtrip which netted an impressive 39mpg.
No complaints about my XL. Still need to take it in to be looked at by Ford for the pesky recall notices. Aside from two odd incidences with the radio not turning off, I've had no issues.
Would definitely buy again (ask me again in five years when the true nature of the truck is revealed) although I might go for the AWD/FX4 next time around for the 4000lb towing capacity.
The truck is what it is...an inexpensive (when ordered and purchased new) alternative to a "real" pickup truck. Let's face it...unless you're in construction or hauling around major equipment, 99.9% of your truck adventures are to work, the grocery store and Lowes/Home Depot. This truck is more than capable and with MUCH better gas mileage.
Had an off duty postman stop me Friday (he was driving a really nice TDR 4x4 Tacoma) and asked me all sorts of questions about my Maverick. He wanted to order the hybrid version but I told him about the endless wait many on this forum have gone through, and the EB is a nice alternative and still gets decent gas mileage. His Tacoma was flipping awesome...still would have been my first choice purchase, but reality set in when I found I couldn't get comfortable trying to get the seat in a position when I could see over the hood without my knees being right at chin level. No seating issues with the Maverick unless you're 6'+ and have to sit in the rear seats.
All in all, happy with ownership!
