I have the Ford installed one and there is a bit of clumsiness to it but It stores what I call my vehicle gun and my carry gun when needed. I noticed in the photos that the aftermarket door opening appeared as more rectangular in the initial photo but a virtual clone of the OE further along in the thread? It is unfortunate it takes up the entire storage but I suspect I would be complaining of not enough room if it didn't :(

Where did you see or read that Muslogy is compatible with a Muslogy console tray?
That would be nice.
I actually don't remember, which is part of the reason I decided to make this thread. I swear that I read somewhere (here, maybe reddit?) that it was compatible with the top tray, but I can't find it now. This was super attractive to me because then I don't totally compromise the storage space of the center console and I can keep the vault covered with an organizer tray.

I have one installed, it takes up the hole storage no room for anything else
That is disappointing. I'm back and fourth between a console vault and a rear seat vault. The ability to place a tray over the vault was going to be the deciding factor for me but if it can't do it, I may just go the route of the rear seat vault because then I still have some storage space above that - plus it allows more room to put a bigger gun or more stuff if I'm going to the river or something and want to lock up my phone, wallet, etc.

Be advised
"BBurnie" installed the Ford Brand
The Muslogy may have room.

Those are AA batteries sitting on top of the safe. The OP put them there to demonstrate the room on top.
Front or rear safe?? It depends on how much convenience are inconvenience you're willing to to have. One of them requires you exiting your truck raising the rear seat and stowing or retrieving your weapon. The other one, you can do from the driver seat.

Currently, I use it more as a "locked glove box" for my registration & insurance but might eventually put a pew-pew in there. Not totally secure but good enough to stop casual thieves.

BAD NEWS: after only about 7 months, the locking mechanism stopped working and now opens to any combination. I emailed Muslogy but didn't hear back from them so I'm posting this warning. I asked them to send just a replacement locking mechanism since it looks like it can be removed.
Will update with further details...

Great Update!!!
Muslogy quickly sent me a whole new console vault after I emailed them! Great Customer Service!
I actually would have been fine with only the locking mechanism since I don't plan on reinstalling the whole vault-It was a pain to get those screws tightened.

Revisiting this thread about 10 months later - does anyone know if a console tray that is compatible with the console vault is on the market? Wouldn't be hard to make. I was looking at my current console tray, which seems to be mass produced by a dozen or so brands on Amazon, and if it was maybe a half inch to one inch shorter in height, I'd probably be able to fit the console vault underneath it. Alternatively, if they made the side walls of the console vault shorter by the same amount then it'd be compatible with most trays currently on the market. Kill two birds with one stone.

Maybe an idea for @MABETT @Muslogy Auto or @Maxzina ...

In my Escape, I had a Liberty lock case under the passenger seat chained to the seat support. With the new Mav and the rear heat vents under the seat dunno what I'm gonna do. :(

The Ford brand and several other brands come up too high for tray and will interfere with closing console. I bought a generic and I ended up cutting the bottom off about 2” so my tray fits. However, if you look at other posts there is a generic brand that is shorter, another member posted about. I have seen it on both Ebay and Amazon, the only issue is it has a full bottom plate. If you have push button start, you will have to install without bottom plate or cut opening in bottom plate to allow key fob to sit in slot at bottom of console to start vehicle in case key fob has dead battery. Fits lower, Price is good, but need slot or open bottom for key Fob:

Finally installed the vault. I've been waiting to see if any console trays would come out but I've decided to resort to 3D printing one. Only complaint is that mine came with 6 screws. So I just installed the screws in a 2-1-2-1 pattern. I've included some guns for reference so users can get an idea of the size. I was able to fit a Glock 17, Glock 43x, and S&W 642 UC in there with room to spare.
