Now that I've driven on different types of roads I'm finding my '26 Lobo does not
like roads with "imperfection, or harsh bumps, etc. It resonates hard back to
the suspension and whole truck body. I know it has a more tighter suspension
than the Lariat, which I've never driven and should have. Yes, I've set tire pressure
as low as I should. Been there done that with many vehicles, but, I'm not happy with
the ride quality...even though it's set up differently...because it's a Lobo.

Again, I think a better quality tire would help some. I usually upgrade all my vehicles
with a top quality tire. Just bought this Lobo and was "feeling it out." Hmmm????

The issue might be helped with a better quality tire with a more compliant compound.

Anyone....thoughts please. Thanks Much.

What were you driving before your Lobo? I was driving a “body on frame” GMC Canyon (with solid rear axle & leafsprings) and my unibody Lobo is more comfortable over bumps etc.

I actually really like the ride & handling of my Lobo:) Going to replace the tires soon with something slightly wider & grippier - but more for handling than comfort.

I'll find the right quality good but slightly on the stiff side. if changing the tires doesn't work you could always swap with someone who has the standard sway bar.

My research shows that the OEM tires, the Goodyear Wrangler Territory HT
is not a great tire....as is the case with most all OEM tires.
I just had a conversation with my guy at Tire Rack who I've bought lots of tires
from. He knew exactly my issue with the Maverick...whether Lariat or Lobo...it's
the OEM tires. They've been gathering info on the Lobo for tires. They never have a
problem suggesting what are not so good tires...even if they sell them..and what are
better for certain vehicles.

I've been using Continental DWS 06+ tires on all my vehicles for years. Mustang GT's,
different Acura models, etc. The 235/55/19's are what they've been seeing as being
a great overall tire for the Lobo....but, of course not IF you are tracking it! I'm not in to
doing that...and or wanting Summer tires.

They are slightly up in diam. as he knows, but, well within acceptable limits. The Contis have
always been a great Ultra High Performance All Season tire and many in the car world know
that. They were amazing on my 500 hp Mustang GT's! Not like a Summer tire for tracking, or road
courses, BUT, outstanding for street and very curvy, tight mountain "warrior attacks".....LOL!

They have shown to be very good in snow conditions and wet streets as well as dry. Thus their
name....DWS....Dry, Wet, Snow.

I'll report back after I get them on the Lobo and see how they feel.

Thanks for input. The input I needed was for the Lobo....but, I'm very versed on all types of
high performance vehicles, and SUV's. OH....I also put this tire on my '24 BMW M2! That thing
is a beast and nasty....and my Contis did just great.

Best Wishes!!

I had these tires on my '15 WRX as well after I got new rims for it, and can confirm they're a great tire setup for exactly what you're describing. They're not a track tire, nor an autocross tire, but if you occasionally do spirited driving around some curvy roads and whatnot, it'll handle it well. They'll also be good-ish in the rain, good-ish in the snow, and in general be good enough as a three season tire to keep around.

You bought the wrong truck.

The Lobo is marketed as a sporty, performance, good handling truck. That’s not the type of driver you are, by your own admission

Trade it in on a Lariat. Same basic truck, mbut aimed and tuned at a different type of customer.

Actually, you don’t sound like a truck customer at all. Look for a luxury sedan or crossover.

Cool, another Lobo in CO. :) Welcome.

I'm not going to tell you bought the wrong thing, or are doing it wrong.

But, coming from my stock Focus ST - the Lobo rides better (More comfortably).
The FoST would still perform better in the corners and twisties though..

The extra Lobo clearance (yes, over a FoST) is noticeable, and welcome on the rough or damaged mountain roads.

I don't want to lower or stiffen mine any further, but do want to try a stiffer rear sway bar, and make some toe adjustments on the front and rear; mainly to improve cornering and turn-in.

Re: tires, I know I don't need to say it but, the Continental DWS 06+ are really good, and I think will be a great fit on the Lobo. They are what I'll be putting on mine when I cook the stock ones (maybe sooner...but I want to get my $ worth out of them instead of just throwing them in the trash).

I also ran the Contis on my FoST for a few months, including some snow pack-- they are really good for getting sporty.

If you’re going to be so judgmental at least try to judge the right person….

I know exactly what I bought and what the Lobo is vs the Lariat. I just didn't drive it on ALL types
of roads to know the OEM tires. But, after 76 vehicles owned and this is my 48th new vehicle, I do
believe I know my cars, SUV's, sports cars, and a past couple of Rangers all pretty well.
I wanted something different to add to the list. This was it. So....you think I bought the wrong truck??
That's your "guess" and without knowing near enough you made a wrong assumption.

But, hey, keep swinging, you might hit a single at some point.

New Conti DWS 06+ are on the way to my door step. Probably at least my 10th set bought for
different cars.

Do you think my '24 BMW M2, Motor Trends Performance Car of the Year for '24.......has a pretty
solid, tight suspension?? That's rhetorical.....OF COURSE it does. And I put the Contis on it. Didn't
need the summer tires....and the Contis were great. I know what I want, what I need, and do my homework. I knew, basically that the Lobo OEM's were not great tires, but, I was hoping. But, as in
past OEM's....I always took them off and put my Contis on. Always happy afterwards.

Have a great day. Let me know when you catch up to my total cars owned. Oh...I'll probably be deceased by then. Only because I'm an old fart.

Yes it does. And I knew that prior. Lariat is the "softer" of the two.
But, there were other things I liked about the Lobo, so after much
head scratching, research.....I went with the Lobo. Just need to
"tinker some" here and there. LOL!!

The Conti DWS 06 Plus tires are on my Lobo. 235/55/19's. Slightly wider. And YES they do
absorb the harsher street "bumps" as I was sure they would. Smooth, very good ride considering
the Lobo has a tighter suspension, etc. Totally happy with them as I have been in the past with
all my different vehicles.

Chops....these are for your Lobo too!!

I drove more today with the new Contis installed. Definitely the overall ride with
the Lobo is better. Now, for me, the Lobo is more enjoyable to drive. Damn quick
in Sport Mode and more fun to drive, as others have commented on.
