Any protection film recommend for windshield?

Bad day last Friday, new 2024 in 2 weeks got chip......

A sucking car passed me crazy and brought the chip......

Tried to repaired with kit, but not satisfied

want to put protection film in windshield when have to preplace new one, never did it before, how is the kind of protection result? Did they really prevent chip? Any good brand or film recommend?

Unfortunately, the windshield on our Maverick's is similar to the 2005-2006 Scion XB profile. We are more prone to getting rock and pepple hits due to the aero dynamics of the Maverick. I personally haven't used protective film, but I hear it can be helpful.

I checked some online review, it said most of the film will decrease the windshield clarity

Got my first crack 2 weeks in. I also am interested in a protective film and read about clarity, but not sure how much that means real world. Could it be something you get used to? Is it even noticeable? How well does the film really work? Lots of questions...

In Arizona, we seem to know you have to get complete glass coverage and you need a new windshield every two years approximately that’s if you don’t get a large dollar bill size crack anytime you have a tiny crack you can make it larger so that you get a free replacement. It seems a terrible way to do it, but our windshields gets so hazy with little pitted cracks from desert rocks that replacement. Every two years is pretty much mandatory in the state.
