Eruption Green, plain jane xlt, had a mth. Terrible weather, washed 1st time & noticed 1st flaw. Standing @ driver rear door, @ certain angle, it looks like the spot weld of the hinge to the door of the gas filler deformed @ the weld spot. Not paint, it's the metal under-paint is smooth. Can't see it straight on. Da_m ocd... Anybody else?

There shouldn't be any spot welds for the gas door hinge, so I'm not sure what you're seeing. The hinge and door are plastic, or at least they are on the Ecoboost Mavericks.

I suppose there might be a bracket welded on there that the plastic fuel filler unit mounts to.

Ya it's plastic. I noticed the same thing a couple years ago. Injection port dimple during the molding process. You'll get over it. It only took 20 sessions with my therapist.

Is that 20 more? Thnx. Yeah, I haven't even opened the filler door to add gas... just saw the distortion from the outside. Injection/ ultrasonic weld = gotcha

It's not ultrasonic welded. It just slides and clips onto the hinge.
