With all of the things that want to send me alerts over the slightest whatever, why in the world does the antitheft system merely beep the horn rather than send an alert?

For that matter, the mere fact of moving should trigger an alert! That wouldn't require constant gps; it could be triggered by an inertial sensor that requires negligible (or even zero) draw, which causes power to make sure it's actually moving.

Hello all.
So bought my 2022 1st Edition Lariat a year ago this past Feb. It had everything except the tow package. I just looked up what the Ford perimeter plus provides and it seems I already have it. Remote start, horn alert, when I tested and opened my door from the intrtior, but it says nothing about sending an alert via Ford Pass or at all. Can anyone explain what I may be missing? Thanks

I think you're missing both the audible alarm that would happen if someone attempted to break into your vehicle, and also the FordPass app alert on your phone. That alert is what I really want. I'm somewhat paranoid myself after my last truck was stolen (2003 Chevy Avalanche).

No Mavericks came with the Perimeter Plus Alarm, only the Basic Perimeter Alarm.

Perimeter Plus adds a two stage shock sensor and Alerts through the Ford Pass app.

Easy to add yourself, I installed mine.

fwiw this is not compatible with the 2025's
I really think Ford just needs to update their compatibility data. When you build and price a new 2025 Maverick, it gives the option to add Perimeter Plus. It doesn't tell you which model, but I suspect it is the same one that works on the 22-24 Mavericks.

I'd be curious if that's the case and how complex it is to add on my own. First world problems, having a 2025 and being uncertain if previous upgrades/accessories are compatible :\

If only Ford sold some sort of security system add-on that does just that. 🤔
Aside from not being compatible (yet?) with the 2025 Maverick, and the app not sending notifications . . .

There is already a state of the trucklet of "I am being stolen!" I'm suggesting that this should trigger a notification, rather than just shooting off the horn.

And digital accelerometers are dirt cheap; less than a dollar. If the ones already in there can't be tapped in a low power situation, a separate one that simply triggers a system startup would not be a noticeable cost. [roughly it triggers, truck activates enough check to check GPS, and if it's not where it should be, signals for help.]

Would be nice if the app showed the door lock status
