Great rec! Thank you!!
You are welcome! I have seen a few low miles ones (less than 25k miles), loaded with AWD, heated front/rear seats, air cooled seats (front), premium sound system for around $27k-$28k (that was a while ago before used car prices started tanking)

Sucks to hear your dealer is so shady, but totally understand your concerns.

God I know, I keep thinking this too. My next update from Ford is around 2/3 if they stick to their "every 45 days" promise

Mine is ruby red I think, and it was extra. Looks like candy apple red to me.
I will have to admit, every time I see that Red Mazda CX-5. It turns my head. Post a photo sometime.

Take a look at the Mazda CX-5. The standard 2.5L (non-turbo) it's been pretty bulletproof, while having the best interior materials from the competitors, non-turbo engine and a normal 6 speed transmission (no CVT like most) The used market lost A TON of value after the CX-50 release, so you will find some pretty good deals out there. I totally love mine and would recommend it to anyone. The infotainment rotary dial does take some time to get used to, but now I prefer it over my wife's touchscreen. Only thing I don’t like, Mazda paint is delicate
Do you know if the Mazda 2.5L is the same (Atkinson engine) that they are putting in the Hybrid Maverick?

Might be the soul red crystal metallic paint. It has swirls marks galore, and I hand wash only. It has a pretty soft clear coat IMO. But DAMN it's a sexy color
Love Love Love that color!

I think I read that it's actually silver underneath a red clear coat. Not sure if they put another clearcoat over it?....

It is not. Mazda's SkyActiv-G is completely different. It actually runs on both Otto (conventional) and Atkinson cycles.

Eh, so many cars have back up cams (esp if 2018-now) and you can get heated seats on p much anything at any price point depending on age / mileage / condition, and I'm in KY where houses are much cheaper than Maui--a friend of mine bought a 3bed/1bath house for 140k.

All that sounds really fun but i think anything older than 00 is out of the picture for me right now, there's so much salt on the roads during winter that older cars are rusty as hell unfortunately.
Well i get it. I lived i ohio till 2015 and all i ever had that was new was a 91 ranger and a 95 econoline. Couldnt ever afford to own a home there in ohio. Got lucky and married someone who built a cabin on empty land mortgaged for 400,000 between 4 incomes. Ive never had anything new enough to have any luxury features, half the cars i drove daily in ohio never had a working heater lol.

Hope you find something and good luck.

Hello! As much as I'd love a Maverick, I have big doubts that my order (placed 9/2022) will come to fruition anytime in the next 18 months.

I currently have a 99 Ranger, and she's always got an issue. I'm in my mid/late 20s and trying to save for a house one day and the Ranger is making that impossible. And as much as I'd love another truck, I am not building furniture enough right now (and likely won't be for a few years) to make buying another truck a priority. Nor do I want any of the massive trucks that are on the market.

Does anyone have any recommendations on cars/brands? Used or new, low maintenance, and not low to the ground. Only thing I'm a stickler for is heated seats and back up camera. I have a short commute, and if I don't get a truck, I'd like to have a roof-rack. I'm thinking RAV4/Bronco Sport size. I'm in KY and ideally looking under 27k, if that helps.

Nissan Frontiers, RAV4, and Escapes have popped up in a lot of my searches, but I'm not that familiar with any of them. Would love any insight anyone has :)
I know it's frustrating but hopefully yours is built soon. I'd say you have a good chance considering it's an ecoboost. Mine was ordered 9/21/22 and I took possession on January 13. I was pretty impressed but that.

Constant repair costs are awful. The good news is it's not exactly a great market to buy a house... not that it will improve anytime soon. I'm in the same boat.

Too soon for me to really comment much on my satisfaction with the Maverick. I never imagined I would buy something like the Maverick (or even another Ford/American car for that matter) but it seemed like a smart buy right now. It's not my dream car, but more of a one size fits most that will be more than capable of all the things I need a vehicle for. For right around 30k it has just about every comfort I want in a daily driver/outdoor road trip vehicle (except of course maybe the fuel economy of the hybrid).

Incidentally I had a '99 Ranger back in the day. Rear wheel if I recall and bare bones but a good vehicle nonetheless. I wish the Maverick had the option for a slightly shorter cab/longer bed. The fuel economy will be vastly improved over the Ranger though regardless of engine/trans/drive on either vehicle.

I hope it works out for you.

I emailed the salesman over a week ago to ask if he could provide pricing or any paperwork (and told him I knew build progress would come from Ford). No response. I forwarded to the sales manager on Thursday and explained I couldn't get a response and how the salesperson told me over the phone he didn't know me. I asked for a new salesperson and pricing/paperwork and the manager hasn't replied to me....it was an extremely nice email, too. Do you think I'm SOL?

Did you ever get an email from Ford after the dealer placed the order? Did you sign an order preview with the build you wanted?

I did receive the ford email! Dealership told me before they placed the order that I'd receive order preview and a call regarding cost - they placed the order without calling/sending the preview and I've been asking for months for info. Been repeatedly ignored. I 99% believe they placed it without any intention to sell to me...

Well the fact that you have an email from Ford, is a step in the right direction! (since it most likely indicates that is indeed in your name, or at least when it was submitted).

I would head down to the dealership and send a print out of the email, and not leave until you get the order preview for your build (and make sure it's on your name). That will have all information needed to track the order using the Ford chat, and then the pizza tracker once a VIN is assigned.
