Holy smokes, wow they know they have a captive audience. I bet it’s cheaper to order from Long McAuthur Ford in Kansas and it shipped to San Diego then put it on a slow boat to Hawaii…

Not going to lie I was expecting (and hoping) to see some kind of scenic Hawaii view when I opened this thread

I'm in Honolulu and from my knowledge the 3 dealers are charging between 3-5k ADM.. Not sure if this on a custom order or just stock that people who ordered didnt want. But I'm sure they didnt buy it for the same reason - loss in value with the ADM.

Not sure if anyone is taking any orders now but they require a $100 deposit, not 5k.

To be fair shipping prices for anything on a boat right now is nuts. Not sure about Hawaii but trying to get products scheduled on containers ships out of Asia we’re seeing prices 4x higher than two years ago. When I moved from Maui to WA I shipped my car and it was close to $700 if I remember right and that was 15 years ago. I can imagine due to shortages, shipping costs, and demands, that some of these dealers might be the only ones who have a valid argument for marking them up. Doesn’t help I know but maybe it puts that in perspective. Find out shipping rates from LA, the call Chapman Ford see if they can ship to LA Ford dealer then have them put it on the boat.

I’ll be on Kauai in a couple of months Flying though so can’t bring a Maverick with me though

Currently, $1800 to ship from San Diego to Kauai. In 2016 it was $1300. The truck is small enough, might qualify as a carry on....

Maui guy here. There was a member who posted their new Mav on Oahu. He didnt say what he paid but it sounded like he was able to negotiate the markup down by getting a solid price from a mainland dealer and showing them. If you can get the markup below 3k its almost worth it for the convience(Pasha can be a pain in the ass, not always but sometimes). They probably get shipping a lil cheaper maybe more like $1000 or 1200. So there is still room for their profits. If/when I get a new Ford it will probably be from a mainland dealer and possibly include a roadtrip.
