Air Design Fender Flares - Finally Installed!

Hello,

I'm very curious how these compare to the Mabett flares. For starters I knew that the Mabett flares are short about 1/8" to 1/4" in fitting the fender openings 100%. Not all corners but some.

Another Mav owner posted that when spilling gas on his Mabett flares, the plastic discolored.

I've learned when building scale model cars that plastic is not plastic is not plastic. Meaning that there are several variations.

The Ford Air Designs mention being painted in a satin black which looks cool and adds to durability.

So I'm very very curious about fit and finish.

I've had these AD's in stock for nearly a year, installed them on my new Tremor last week, along with my RokBlox mudflaps. They have fairly thick mounting flanges, so I made 1/4" thick plastic washers for the (2) lower mounting holes. All 8 bottom edges overlap the paint as shown, no color visible.

Ditto on the OEM offering. Many times the factory add on fromage is the best.

For example, I spent some coin on the black platinum letter inserts from Ford after having rifled through several flat and puffy decals. The latter doesn't even come close, in fact the flat decals show the factory orange peel big time.
