Has anyone successfully set up an aftermarket Bluetooth unit for the wired connection... like a wireless unit that plugs into the wired USB port?
I've tried 2 products now and both do the same thing... they cycle through connected and disconnected over and over.

You shouldn't have to set up anything for wireless bluetooth. Do you mean for android auto or car play?

This.
The Maverick has built in Bluetooth.

If you're talking about Wireless Android Auto/Apple Carplay, I'd recommend AAWireless.
It supports Both AA and Carplay now and is on sale for $70

I also have the Motorola MA1 and it works great as well.

I think you are referring to wireless (vs. stock wired) Carplay/AA? I used this for AA and it works great. Was $40 when I ordered. Used Wifi (not Bluetooth) technology: amazon.com/dp/B0BR869XQ7?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Yes, wireless Android Auto.
I have 2 similar units to yours now that SHOULD work, but something is wrong in my settings or something. The Bluetooth connection on my phone just keeps cycling between having a connection, then disconnecting.
They both do the same thing.
I'm using AAwireless. It was easy to install. I also bought some USB fittings so it just hangs under the port.

The only gripe I have is if you don't wait for android auto to initialize prior to plugging in your phone to charge the display/media center freezes up

So, Mikeetch (or anyone), please do me a favor and tell me what your Bluetooth and WiFi connections say AFTER you have Android Auto (map and music) showing on your screen.

On mine, Wifi changes from my home wifi network to smartbox-4EF0 (wifi AA adapter). Bluetooth shows "Maverick". Turning off bluetooth on my phone has no effect (truck still shows Waze maps and plays Spotify). Edit: Bluetooth on my Android turns itself back on after I shut it off (tried several times). Probably an AA setting.

I have the Motorola wireless adaptor and it works great. I think once I had to unplug it because Sirius was doing something when I started the truck and it tried to connect.

Okay, thanks Mikeetch. 👍🏾
Now that I know what the connections should look like I'll play with it some more later today. It's still dark here on the west coast.
Hope this helps
