I just used some 30lb velcro tape and this samsung case. I use my tablet for work, so I can just detach at any time. I tested by hammering the breaks at 30mph and 60mph and it didn't budge. It solved my head unit display upgrade issue.

I love the idea of a more responsive, nicer looking screen in the Mav, but I would be worried about a velcrowed screen coming undone in an accident and turning into a projectile.

As a certifiable person whos town vehicle has only one speaker and whos daily driver just has a flip phone with MP3s downloaded on limewire in 2003 tossed on the dash. My only concern with this thread is can I get rid of the stupid 8" tv screen in the middle of the dash? I want knobs, buttons, anything other than a bright ass touchscreen to distract me while driving. Those things are rediculous, how is it safer to navigate a intangible digital medium while driving than to turn a knob and listening while keeping your eyes on the road?

Push the most far right button (right below the screen) a few times to switch the screen to clock only or turn it off. Radio and tune/ volume buttons still work.

I figured that one out while driving from McAllen TX to Carlsbad Caverns on backroads at night. Was very nice. The calm screen on the gauges is nice too!

Metra electronics just announced they are releasing a dash kit and wiring harness for the 22 and up mavericks. Details are light right now but it will be for use with pioneer headunit, most likely the modular ones that have the screen separate from the chassis. No date or pricing yet that I’ve seen. Will probably be shown at Sema

I've been waiting years to hear this. Thank you for a bit of hope! I cannot stand the unit in my XL, but I could not bring myself to upgrade the trim.
