Who has driven a vehicle with aftermarket cruise control?

How much did it cost? Where/how was it installed? What was your experience? How did it integrate? Did you ever have problems?

Honestly...very easy. The only "difficult" part is pulling the collar off around the steering wheel. On my cheapo Spark, the locking tabs looked flimsy. The interface can either be spliced in to wiring or just plugged into OBDC2 port. On a 0-10 difficulty scale...2 tops.

There is a web site with instructions for installing. Maverick cruise is coming soon the website says. Here's a link that shows a demo. http://www.rostra.com/universal-aftermarket-cruise-control-by-rostra.php. Looks easy enough.

It looks like the maverick has the same steering wheel as the ford escape. Is it possible the buttons could be plug and play? It looks like you would need to remove the airbag unit and then unscrew 2 bolts that connect the cruise control/audio buttons. You can tell the steering wheel looks identical. If the steering wheel is the same, the likelihood that the electronics could be the same.

If someone really wants to try, here is one of the cruise control modules off of the ford escape. It's a risk, but it could get you OEM cruise control. Here is a link to one of the ford escape module. It looks like there are a few different varieties, so look out for that.
