I have a toolbox installed with a backrack and the toolbox blocks a bit of my rear view. Unable to see average sized cars when they’re behind me so I’ve had a separate wireless camera setup (DoHonest brand) so I can have a larger field of view and also keep an eye on the toolbox/stuff in the bed. This brand has done well for the cost but I’d rather not have a 5” monitor for the camera on my dash anymore if I don’t have to, on top of both cameras going bad - both showed signs of water intrusion. Has anyone had some luck with aftermarket cameras? If so, what brand? I found a 3rd brake light camera (Morimoto brand) for $200 but haven’t been able to find out where the video feed goes to, still waiting on a response from the supplier. Open to just about anything that’s proven to be reliable, even rear view mirror camera screens as long as the exterior camera can withstand the weather. For more context, I do want this camera to be on while driving - not reverse only.

Look into the wolfbox g900 pro. Its a rear view mirror camera that you can toggle between front and rear cameras or have a split view of both. Seems to have pretty good reviews. I just bought the older version because it was on sale and have yet to install it.

FYI
The Morimoto is just a third brake light with option to add a camera.
It is not a camera itself.

My only experience is with a Wolfbox.
I am just about a year in of ownership of the Wolfbox G900.
There is a thread by AUTiger with his review and I added a thought or two.
Glare was main issue (moon roof usually) but i just turn off the screen as needed.

Happy with it. Ordered a G900pro recently.
Pelsee was another brand that had a similar cam to the Wolfbox.

Above is the site I found that Morimoto brake light + camera. Not excited about the price but the style is perfect - camera is relatively hidden and I like that it wouldn’t be able to be removed from the truck by anybody snooping around but where would the video feed go to? A separately purchased monitor maybe?
I’ll definitely take a look at the wolf box brand too, I’m not opposed to a rear view mirror monitor, I use to have a cheap Amazon one on my old Malibu that worked well. I appreciate the suggestions 👍🏻

I see what you mean about the 3rd brake light not being a camera now - supplier said it just comes with an open space to add an oem backup camera, which means I’d have to somehow source a mavericks backup camera that’s not already installed in the Ford badge 🙄

I had it for a while and I don't recommend it. The rear camera hasn't been improved and the front camera is definitely higher quality but still won't help you read license plates.

ADAS features don't seem to be worth the premium over the 850pro or pelsee p12 plus
