Hello All,
Question. Does anyone else's Maverick suffer from some sort of acceleration issues? Mine seems to shift oddly going and coming from 2 gear. Also when accelerating, it seems like the gear disengages for a split second. It kinda reminds me of a stick shift...imaging pressing the clutch when accelerating for only a brief second. Ford dealership says that nothing is wrong.

Hello! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this acceleration concern? Thank you!

Is it doing this consistently or only in certain situations?

I have had similar clunky shifts, but typically in specific conditions, like a cold drive train going right into stop-and-go traffic with unpredictable moments of coasting, accelerating and braking.

Hello, I too have the same problem with my '23 ecoboost, AWD which has the 4k towing package. At times when starting to drive after a cold start up between 25 - 30 mph and about 1800 rpm the truck has a very pronounced (jerky) gear shift much like someone who is fast on the clutch with a manual transmission. It does it sporadically after cold starts and only once when first going through the lower (2nd or 3rd) gears. I mentioned it to the dealer twice the first time they said if nothing lights up they probably couldn't find a problem. The second time they scanned and test drove (48 miles) and said they couldn't find or re-create the problem.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

This sounds like what mine was doing before my transmission failed at 5600 miles. Hope that’s not it but. I’d definitely keep a close eye on it.

Hello
My 2023 XLT 2.0 does the exact same thing. Almost like it slips into neutral then engages again. FYI, just retired from Ford Motor Company so THANK YOU.

My '24 with 4k tow is exhibiting the same issue. Seems to happen more if I don't warm the truck up for a minute or two and/or if I reverse out of the driveway. I have doubts Ford will be able to diagnose and fix it

I have similar issues with mine, my old 02 explorer with 250k on it shifts better than my Mav does. I’ve just kinda ignored it, doesn’t do it all the time but occasionally it’ll shift funky, I agree with the manual transmission statement though it does basically feel like that. I’ve found that if you don’t baby it it does a lot better. I guess it likes it kinda rough lol šŸ˜†

I have been ignoring it also, hopefully there will be a tsb issued at some point for shift quality. My 11 year old rams 8 speed shifts light-years better also.
