Ordered 9/30/2021, picked up 10/21/2022. I honestly thought it wasn't going to happen. I even got a new job and moved three hours away while waiting for this thing. But... I'm thrilled with it! Coming from a 2000 Ford Ranger 4x4 XLT 4.0L V6 5-speed, which I have driven for 16 years, so this is a major upgrade for me.

Ordered a soft bed cover and floor mats from Rough Country.

When I drove a Maverick in Nov. of '21, I ordered mine 4 weeks later. I received in Aug. of '22. It's now my only set of wheels and it's all I need! I guess I'm a Phanatic- I've had a '65 Falcon, a '68 Falcon, '68 Galaxy 500, '69 F-100 (3-sp, 360v8 short bed), '54 F-100 (1 ton), '75 Maverick, Taurus ( can't remember the year but it had the 3.6-6), '02 F-150, a Ranger (pictured with Hurst 5-sp shifter and Mustang wheels and spinners), and the '16 F-150 that was traded for my Maverick. The question is; does a Maverick make me a Ford guy? I really like my new truck!

I had the Ranger series just after yours - a 2010 for 12 years. I used to grimace because Ford Marketing put a "Power Bulge" hood on my anemic 4 cylinder. My wife snickered every time we got into my "Power Bulge" 146 HP Ranger. I loved that wimpy truck because it got 30 mpg, but it was carrying 200 pounds of bloated bodywork it didn't need.

What ever happened to the days when compact trucks didn't have to wear codpieces?

Since that Ranger is just collecting leaves and sticks in your driveway would you mind just shipping it over to me. I used to have the same year but in green with the 4.0 5spd. Even had 90s Mustang wheels on it with 235 rears and 215 fronts. Spun tires in every gear but OD and drove it through 12" inch deep snow on a state highway(speedo said 75mph but was probably going 30mph, just pulsing the throttle in 5th). That was a helluva truck and I sold it for $600 when I moved 7 years ago.

I am looking for my Lariat Hybrid in Hot Pepper Red to be my 1996 Ranger upgrade. I do mostly in-town driving in it and with the 3.0 L engine I can't really haul much in it. With 112K on the odometer I am thinking of selling it as soon as I get confirmation I have a new truck coming.

1996 XLT Ranger, 3.0 L, 5 sp, 4 x 4. only slightly used.
