Good thing you are little and traveling solo.It bit of a crazy concept. But it actually works. Not a refined build, but it is good enough for Southern California.
With the removal roof, why would you need the escape window? It bit of a crazy concept. But it actually works. Not a refined build, but it is good enough for Southern California.
Because it doubles as a gear loading hatchWith the removal roof, why would you need the escape window?
Why not use aluminum 2x4 beams to make it a bit lighter? Gotta be a way to make that easier to lift onto the bed. All in all an awesome concept and I hope someone makes you a deal to sell it or mass produce it. Gook luck.It bit of a crazy concept. But it actually works. Not a refined build, but it is good enough for Southern California.
You have a sharp eye. Yes, I used as much scrap wood as possible. Hard cover and windows are the bulk of the price.I wonder if there is a price estimate. Looks like a lot of the wood was left overs.
Did you think about using a split door on the back, so when the tail gate is up you could open 1/2 of the door?Because it doubles as a gear loading hatch![]()
Nicely designed though a crude build. I imagine a refined factory build out of fiberglass would be half the weight of all the wood you used. Patent and get a manufacturer. I think you could sell a lot of these keeping it basic. Well done.It bit of a crazy concept. But it actually works. Not a refined build, but it is good enough for Southern California.
Thanks!Pascal, that's a great build. I'm glad I watched the video; you've got some truly thoughtful design and great execution of the ideas here. I love how you repurposed the bed cover! The nesting/sliding bed frame is really nice. I wonder if you could have the slide-out portion full-width?
Mine has no desire to camp. hahaNice but what would I do with my wife?
