28 2023 Mavericks already "available" in Alabama . . . Why are we all complaining?!

A dealership's website from Birmingham, AL lists 31 Mavericks up for sale, 28 of which are 2023s! Everyone who's waiting for their Maverick should just go there. Not sure what the big deal is! Obviously, like every other Maverick listed "for sale", none of the 22s are actually available (at least, not for less than $10k over MSRP). Have no idea why the 23s are even listed (actually, I do know - So they can talk you into a different car when you inquire about one they don't have). Still . . . weird to have specific 2023s listed.

A quick search shows Stivers Ford has all those Mavericks. At least they list the correct MSRP on their website - but are/will they selling them at MSRP??? Not in today's market, I'll bet.

On the other hand, Town and Country Ford lists a single, in-stock Maverick for $36,210 and claims that is the MSRP on their website. When you open the window sticker the MSRP shows as $31.210. I understand this misrepresentation but really can't condone it.

Ugh, I bought my Escape at Stivers in Montgomery. That dealership was blacklisted because of my experience with them. I dealt with Long-Lewis for the Maverick and have used them for ongoing maintenance on the aforementioned Escape. Much better dealership.

Stivers Ford. Probably not all the dealers fault. I know Ford and all kinds of other websites list cars that aren't actually available. Still annoying, though. "Hey! We have 31 Mavericks! You can't have any and they're not for the price we've listed them. But, give us a call!!:

If they are like most dealers when the 22’s came out, they are customer orders… I hated it when I was looking and they were green window stickers and most were not listed as custom orders. One dealer actually told me Ford did it and they had no control over it. I called it “bait and switch” as so many told me (even after order ordering had closed) to come in and we can order you one…

Stiver's is famous for this, they list everything they have ordered for stock. I called them about a Maverick they had on their website about 6-8 months ago, "oh, it hasn't been delivered yet but we can order one for you."

This sounds accurate to me... every time i see something on a website it is either ordered or enroute.

Most dealers and brands do this. I found out when my son totaled my wife's car and we were looking for a new car. We initially weren't looking at Fords. Needless to say this was infuriating when you actually need to purchase a car.

My Maverick showed up on the dealer's website the day it was delivered. It didn't have any actual pictures and all the option information was generic. The VIN was right though and apparently it generated a lot of calls between the Saturday it arrived and the Tuesday I picked it up. Luckily they were honest folks because they easily could have sold it to someone else for thousands more than I paid.

They got a FWD EB XL the same day. The original buyer backed out and it sold Monday for $2500 over MSRP. It was also automatically listed to their website, again with just stock photos and generic options list. It actually had CP360, 400w inverter, spray in bedliner, and I think rubber mats. The total on the sticker was about $24500. So even for $27000 it wasn't a terrible deal for someone. While I was at the dealer picking up my Maverick the owner told me the cheapest used truck he had on the lot was $25000. He really wishes he could get stock Mavericks (no surprise there).
