UPDATE: NO PROGRESS for a replacement!
My dealership has tried and no results.
I sent a request to the Mfg. AMP Research Support - FW: 2022 Maverick Bed Extender - Problem
with pictures
A bit disheartening when you are ignored!!

I was ready to use my extender for the first time. I discovered
the straps are too short and cannot fully engage the tail gate latch.
The dealership confirmed the problem.
Weeks/calls have progressed still no replacement, urghh!!
Any ideas on how to expedite a replacement?

If you really need to get a quick fix I'd go to Harbor Freight and buy a set of $6 to $12 color coordinated ratch straps.
