Greetings,
I picked up my 2025 Maverick this week and I’ve recently noticed that the mic doesn’t pick up my voice (even through basic Ford voice assistance tasks). I’ve searched high & low regarding any options on the screen that may be the issue with no luck.
Even making/answering calls other parties are unable to hear me at all (Apple CarPlay). I’ve read tons of bad things regarding the microphones, but I’d at least think they would work, even poorly.

Plan on taking it to the dealership soon, but figure I’d post here to see if somehow it’s an easy fix I’m over looking.

Update your phone and clean it up is not the radio is your phone. One way to test it is to disconnect car play and make a phone call

I wish it was that easy! Ha
Phone works fine outside of Carplay.
Even basic Ford voice assistance functions do not work which has nothing to do with the phone at all.

Voice pickup in my Maverick works a whole lot better than the one in my 2019 F150 XLT. Do not have to repeat any command 1 and done. Much better than my repeating "call home" 15 times before it did it on the F150.

I was having issues with my Ford connection. Like I couldn't make phone call. I called Ford Tech and the technician had me push two buttons at the same time on the stearing wheel. The computer went blank and rebooted. All my problems went away. So you can reboot the system. I can't remember which two buttons. Sorry.

If the HVAC blower is on higher speeds, try turning that down first. Also, speak in the direction of the mic, located on the driver's A-pillar (unless they've moved it in the '25 models).

Also try simultaneously holding VOL Down & Seek> buttons on the steering wheel for 10 seconds or so, until the infotainment system starts to reboot. That may or may not help.

certainly time for a trip to the dealership, but in the meantime you can pull the microphone out and make sure it has a good connection. it's in the upper left headliner and you can gently pull it out to inspect it.

Chatted with a Ford rep and walked through reseting radio, didn’t fix it.

Carefully pulled out microphone in a frame and appears to be hooked, no loose connections there.

Really appreciate the help!

so, based on a few very rare issues like that reported with the 22-24, it's probably a bad mic. there was one guy I recall who had to have his headliner dropped down and new cabling installed, though.

Dropped my Maverick off yesterday (14th) at the dealership to get the microphone issue resolved.

Have a loaner f150 and the voice recognition system in it works flawlessly so definitely wasn’t a random setting issue in mine.

Got it back. For anyone else in the same boat. The dealer had to replace the microphone on the driver’s side a frame pillar.

Guess bad luck is what this boils down to.

it's a tiny, crappy mic. I wouldn't be surprised about a few of them being defective and I'm glad they got you sorted. :)
