Go with the clear edge guard. It's cheap, easy to install, or remove, and is invisible. The thick "U" shaped edge guard will leave marks where it was installed after a while plus the paint will be darker (depending on color) where the guard was installed over time if ever removed.

I had the door edge guards on my Yaris. They protected the other people's car doors pretty good.
