After 1017mi on the truck the air conditioner quit working. Appointment for 9/11/25 has been set up at Ford dealership.
My 2020 Ford Transit Connect has been flawless except for the air conditioner. They say it’s the mixing valve or something. It always blows cold, just something gets hung up in the doors, changing from outside air to inside air or from vents to defroster.

I just went through this. A common issue is the ambient air temp. sensor, located on the front grill. IF your outside air temp on the screen is not functioning, this is an easy and cheap fix. Next, the AC fuse was checked...AOK. On our truck, the AC compressor belt was gone, possibly chewed by rodents. Replacing this "stretch on" belt did NOT fix the issue. Turned out that an electrical connection was not making contact... this on a truck with 16,000 miles.

ShelbyV8, well, that was not the case THIS time.... but believe me, we have been on the rat/mice go-round before. They chewed the "accordion pleated" rubber on the air intake - a $460 part from Ford. I opted to seal it with 3M trim adhesive and super silicone. Our truck has rubber snakes glued in the engine bay, two kinds or mouse repellent, peanut butter baited traps, a block of green mouse bait, a motion sensor light, an electronic mouse repellent sound generator, and is parked by a box with corn muffin mix and baking soda. I think you get the idea.....

That's terrible on such a new vehicle. At least with you owning a hybrid there are no belts for anything to chew through.
I also own a hybrid. This is interesting and relevant to me.
Good luck at the dealers and please keep us updated.
Good Luck

I hope they don’t either. It would never be the same. Real sharp technicians are getting harder and harder to find at repair shops.

I think it might be more economical to hire an armed security guard! 😂

I followed you until baking soda.
Why baking soda?

2 parts baking soda to 1 part Jiffy corn bread (or peanut butter or cocoa mix or potato flakes) is supposed to be lethal to mice who cannot process the gas.

Part of the reason I got divorced was because my ex said I continued to process the gas.😂

This on waterfilled bucket at front of truck - if they come, give them something better smelling. That being the peanut butter.
Caught 2 chipmunks fast with this - one which was looking out of front grill area on Rav4 one weekend.

Get the original, better quality.
