There have been a number of comments regarding the exhaust sound in the new 25 and 26 Tremor models. When I upgraded from a 2024 Lariat to the 2025 Tremor, I noticed a decidedly difference in the exhaust which seemed more performance related. Some have commented this is artificial coming through the speakers. Here's what I have found using MS Copilot:

"No. There is no evidence that the 2026 Ford Maverick Tremor uses its audio speakers to generate artificial exhaust sound, and nothing in the available 2026 Maverick audio‑system documentation indicates any form of Active Sound Enhancement (ASE) or fake engine/exhaust audio.

The 2026 Maverick Tremor does include the premium 8‑speaker B&O audio system, but this system is described strictly as a music/audio playback system, not a vehicle‑sound synthesizer.

Ford has used speaker‑based sound enhancement in some performance models (e.g., Mustang EcoBoost, certain F‑150 trims), but no documentation, reviews, or technical notes show this feature being used in the Maverick line, including Tremor.

🔍 What the sources do confirm
  • The Tremor trim comes standard with the B&O 8‑speaker system, but it is not tied to exhaust or engine sound generation.
  • All available 2026 Maverick audio‑system guides focus on speaker count, amplifier differences, and infotainment behavior, with no mention of synthesized exhaust audio. "

It is fake noises. Change the modes and the sound changes per mode. Sport sounds different than eco. The engine sounds like a vacuum cleaner. There are turbo noises but I can assure you the difference you hear is fake

My 2026 Tremor does not seem to use caned engine sounds. I have listened windows up and down, low RPM up to 4000 quiet and mild, above it starts to roar some. Only change windows up or down is the volume. Still breaking in so have not pushed much.

The robot continuum says the the Maverick Tremor uses Active Sound Enhancement of the engine and also that it doesn't, citing the Maverick Truck Club as a source for both opinions.

I doubt that Microsoft is an unimpeachable authority either.
Ford support seems mute on the subject.

You are noticing the difference between the two completely different engines. Those folks that switch from one to the other universally note the sound difference.

I attribute the sound change to the more direct air intake system and the redesigned twin scroll turbo. Not sure if the aluminum valve cover versus the previous plastic one adds a different tone?

Anyway - you have good ears & thanks for the comparison:)
