So, I initially ordered the XLT w/Lux (w/ecoboost, tow pkg, AWD) and I was thinking about adding the FX4 package for $800, mainly for looks and the larger screen size. This would make my new total $30, 970.

As I sit here agonizing over the details and production delays I've been playing around with the online build tool. And I found that I can get the standard Lariat w/ecoboost, tow pkg, and AWD for $31,000. This gives me the larger screen size and gets me out of the what are basically white accented seats (what were they thinking?) as I've selected the white exterior paint.

Ugh... what to do.

Think a standard Lariat with EcoBoost will get a quicker build time than the XLT w/lux that requires a spray-in bed liner? I realize I'll have the cost of a spray-in bed liner after receiving the Lariat.

BTW, does anyone know how the ActiveX seats will hold up to dog paws?

I started when an XLT Lux 4K tow 2WD and switched order to Lariat Lux 4K FX4 AWD. The difference in price is more then I had in mind but spread out over 3 years it was manageable. I had the XLT but needed the put down tools and stuff to unlock the doors. With the Lariat proximity and touch button start was enough to spend the extra. I like the FX4 look. As for the seats, I would use a cover with any kind of seats with dog paws. The velocity blue is XLT FX4 AWD , The area 51 is Lux FX4 AWD . The Lariat also has the extra windshield coating - quieter and LED lights. I swapped the upgraded wheels from the XLT as the black wheels are FX4 stock with Pirellis and the Upgraded silver wheels come with Falken wild peaks . I don't think the spay in bed liner will hold up your order as the issue they had seems to be fixed. There are still some chip shortages. I ordered in July, changed order in September and Lariat delivered in March. Sold the XLT to carmax for $3k over sticker.

I prefer the XLT interior myself, same went with the lux. The heated seats, mirrors, and wiper parks will be great in the winter, which is 9/12 months in upstate NY...
