2024 maverick hybrid trailer brake controller

Just a heads up about installing a redarc brake controller on a hybrid, first of all don't do it! it will really mess with the computer. I had one installed and now have to have it uninstalled due to it messing with the computer, I'm just hoping there is no lasting damage with a huge ford repair bill.

I did some research on this. I think your issue would be solved by installed an anti-backfeed diode. Like this: https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Roadmaster/RM-690.html

From my research, your brake controller is likely sending signal to power the brake lights when engaged (like when you do the manual braking switch on the device). This causes issues with the regenerative braking. The diode should solve, as this is a relatively simple circuit. The device just needs to know when the brake is pressed, but the car doesn't really need to know when you do the manual braking switch.

Adaptive cruise control works intermittently and the pre collision doesn't work at all

It was piece of cake adding a Tekonsha P3 brake controller I already had since 2008 or 2009 and move it from vehicle to vehicle.

To get a brake signal, I used the third center mounted brake lamp. Does not interfere with anything.

No special tools or circuits needed.
Keep it simple. Old school plain old 18 gauge copper wire and nothing else.
