That's not factoring taxes, registration, and other fees. Money factor differs depending on market, too. Also 10.5k miles is below the standard 12k miles most quote closer to the national average.

right, i am being quoted 8% money factor (aka interest rate), is that normal? that sounds very high to me, is it not?

Yes, that's normal judging by the Edmund's forum that's usually a good place to look up lease plans saying, "expect up to 9%".

Ford usually is somewhat inimical to leasing in general and has little reason to incentivize Maverick sales.

Edmund's lease calculator spits out something more like $690/mo with $1k down for 3yr/36k miles accounting for fees and taxes if in, say, Phoenix.

It's typically recommended not to put money down on a lease; it's essentially just prepaying extra payments that has the potential to not be recovered if the vehicle should become a total loss. Better to secure that money in an account and split it up over the course of the lease to effectively reduce the payments.

That said $690/mo is still lower than it'd be financing a similar amount ($37k + 10% for taxes/fees) for 60 mo @ 8% interest; that'd be ~$825.

No guarantee for future but so far buying instead of leasing has been cheap considering what CarMax and Carvana have been paying for used trucks.
