I received the message below from a dealer about ordering a 2024 Maverick. He makes it sound like they can only put in 2024 orders that they already have allocations for. Doesn’t sound right to me.

“Sounds good John, I don’t have two many spots left so I can’t promise I’ll have an available allocation. Sounds like 10th options and pricing will come out on ford.com and 17th we’ll be the order day!”

If you ordered with that dealer last year, have them place the order regardless as Ford will prioritize it. They might still have more unbuilt orders than allocations, but at least you have a greater chance.

Nothing stops you to submit another order at another dealership and play the order roulette to see which one gets built

Dealers were given their projected allocations, so he's likely basing his response off that number.

This was from a different dealer than the one I ordered my 2023 from. I was thinking of doing exactly that, placing an additional order.

Echoing the above.

Ford also only allocated 80% of their planned capacity. So, if your dealer has 10 allocations and you are order 11, ask them to put it in anyway.
