I have a 2023 Hybrid. I installed a 12v/usb meter in the 12v accessory socket. With the key in the run position the reading on the meter is 12.2 to 12.5 volts, with the key in the on position and driving the meter reads 14.8 to 15.2 volts. The question I have is. Is the usb port also putting out the same voltage as the meter is showing? Thanks

The meter is showing the voltage that is supplied to it. The USB outlet is stepped down to 5v which is standard for most devices to charge.

Thank You. I didn't want to try it until I was sure.

Those voltages sound reasonable; but be aware the actual voltage may be a little different.
I have 3 of those plug in "meters" in different vehicles; when checked against a "better" volt meter, each on reads 0.2 to 0.3 V lower than measured with a stand alone meter. Measured in the same plug socket. None of the 3 were higher when checked , but 0.2-0.3v lower than "actual". You can check yourself if you have a stand alone meter with leads, just find the + and - points in the socket.

Yup, USB is 5 volts.

Not sure why you’re asking, but if it is in regards to hard wiring a USB powered 5 volt device, like a dash cam, you can get inline 12–> 5 volt transformers for about $15 on amazon.

if you hard wire a 5 volt USB device into your car’s 12v wiring, it is going to go poof.
