12V source for aftermarket trailer wiring harness

I bought a used 22 hybrid Lariat that came with a Draw Tite hitch but it didn't have a wiring harness for trailers on it. I bought a Curt wiring harness that I an to wire in. My question is can I use the 12v bed plug as a source of power for the trailer wiring harness?

I bought a Tekonsha T-harness (#118866) and wired the power wire to the same stud that is specified in the document HRG posted. I ran the wire from the battery to a large wire harness grommet on the underside of the truck directly under the passenger side rear seat. I cut a tiny slit in the rear of the large square grommet and ran the wire back towards the bumper where the Tekonsha tow module is mounted.

It's not hard but it's tedious. Good luck!
