I picked up my truck yesterday after ordering it 7/17/23. I am coming from a 21 f150 platinum hybrid and so far I'm pleasantly surprised. The ride and cabin noise are not as good as the F150 as it shouldn't be with the F150 being a 80K truck. But, considering the price of the Maverick, it rides great and the cabin noise is comfortable. Driving home 90 miles I averaged 48.6 MPG with a mix of highway and backroads so that's a plus. I purchased this to tow behind my motorhome so I'm looking forward to traveling with it.,

Hey Magnus...

Congratulations on getting your Maverick! Looking real good! I think you will really enjoy this little truck.

Now that you have it, perhaps one of the first mods is to add a Maverick Truck Club decal so you can properly “represent.”

Two styles/sizes available:

Maverick Truck Club Decal (Glossy) | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions ($5 delivered)

Maverick Truck Club Decal (Transfer) | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions ($6 delivered)

I'm going to flat tow as soon as I get it setup.

Do you know which base plate you are going to use? I'm looking at Demco, but am curious what others are using.

Let's see:
Buy a Roadmaster and destroy your lower active shutter system, OR
Buy A Blue Ox despite posts here showing how their welds have broken on Mavericks with a hard stop because they are so wide (and try to make the fascia cutouts look less ugly), OR
Buy a Demco without either of these concerns.

I agree and those are the reasons I'm going with the Demco.

I'm finding conflicting info on etrailer.com regarding whether or not my Blue Ox Avail tow bar will require adaptors to hook to the Demco base plate. Anyone know the answer to that?

The Demco sure is expensive compared to the base plates, but I guess, based on comments I've seen in this group, I'll order one and find someone to install it. I'm not about to begin removing stuff from the body of our new Maverick! I'm too much of a klutz.

Did you do your own installation?

Yes. And I'm 75. It wasn't that hard compared to some of the other 8 I've done. I had a helper lift one end of the baseplate in place because they were available, but I really didn't need help. Put one (end) of the 4 main bolts in place and then lift it and put in the outer bolt on the other side.
The fascia is VERY light. Lotsa youtube instructions as to how to get it off.

The hardest part is figuring exactly where to mount the electric 6 pin connector.

Here is the documentation of my 9/23 install I posted a few months ago:

I have ordered my Demco Tableless Base Plate Kit DM77YV from etrailer.com, and it should arrive on Wednesday this week. Its description claims that my Blue Ox Avail will hook right up to it with no adapters required. We will see, I guess.

I plan to visit with the accessories boss at Mike Maroone Ford - where we bought our XLT Hybrid last week - about doing the installation. When we met during our purchase process, he indicated that if I brought it to them he was sure they could do it... he just didn't nail down a price. He'll need to see the instructions. And I'm thinking he'll have our Maverick anyway to install a tonneau cover. Although I'm only 5 years senior to Brad, who does his own base plate installations, even at half my current 80, I don't think I would have started popping the plastic parts off the front end of my brand new vehicle. I was a klutz with Legos even!
