Kind of saddened this morning to read Hyundai is discontinuing the Santa Cruz next year. I was kind of hoping, in the sense that competition is good for the breed, that they would bring out a vastly improved small truck. Now it looks like their next truck will be Ranger sized...
I'm not trying to make any kind of point. I'm just curious to poll the community and see how many have had people (not stuff) in the back seat. The question isn't whether you want a four door, four seat truck. For instance, I put stuff back there all the time. The question is very specific. Have...
I'm just curious. And my Google searching skills, while adequate, have not born that much fruit A few years ago, I'd see around 1,000 used Mavericks on Cars.Com in the USA. Did a check just out of curiosity today, ands it's about double that. So it makes me wonder a few things. First, 2,200...

I'm curious about the collective wisdom. I think we're about to hit a half million sold by the end of CY 2025. The Maverick is currently selling at 130,000 to 150,000 per year, which is about capacity at Hermosillo (as long as the plant...
No error codes. Tried a few times, then took the wife's car to lunch. Maybe an idle adjustment needed. Maybe a bad fuel issue. Will try a road test around the neighborhood shortly to see if it just works out. Posted this tread in case anybody else has seen this issue.
Update: Engine bay looks...
Not a hybrid guy here, but thought this would interest those that are. TFL reported poor hybrid fuel economy on their 100 mile Denver loop. Ford said "your bad", so they ran it again.
Please note that I posted this in the non-Maverick forum (you can ignore whole forums BTW - I do). I saw a red Ranger Raptor on the highway yesterday and it was hot. It made me want a Maverick Raptor in the worst way...
It must have been a 2024, because I don't see this color for 2025. And...
A lot of fun to watch. They keep it light. I hope we do too.
They do get one thing wrong, but so do most of the people on MTC. The Maverick bed is not a half foot longer than the SC. It's just a few inches longer. Everyone subtracts the space taken by the hard roller tonneau cover (which is...
From Autoline Daily... They usually don't spread BS, so I'm hoping this is true.
FORD TO LAUNCH MAVERICK EV
Ford found a nice niche for its Maverick pickup truck when it was launched nearly 4 years ago, with sales running around 130,000 units a year. And now the company wants to leverage that...
Call me a fool, but I see bright things ahead. I think Ford has the right CEO. He's actively pushing quality. He's pushing affordable BEVs. He's pushing for more affordable trims of everything in general. He's even tied executive bonuses to quality metrics. Go Jim Farley!
I look at the 2025...
This isn't about the Maverick, which is why it's in the General Automotive Talk (Non-Maverick) section. In this video, Sandy Munro visits the Rivian software development lab and talks with the Rivian engineers. It's a great tutorial on how leading edge cars are developed. I'm posting it here...
Nothing?
The Maverick Van that they showed dealers earlier this year?
The 2027 SkunkWorks small electric truck?
Anybody gonna be there? I figure we see something interesting from Ford in 2025 at either the Detroit show or the NAIAS in NYC...
Bold predictions have to be bold enough to generate widespread scorn and derision. Otherwise they're just not bold predictions.
My bold prediction #1 is that Ford overproduces the Maverick at Hermosillo, to the tune of 200,000 a year (cutting Bronco Sport to 100,000). Demand doesn't match...
Last night going up some hills, I noticed something that somehow escaped me for the last two years of ownership. When my ecoboost downshifted to go up the hill, the "P" indicator in the driver display got brighter. Then it went back to normal on a downshift. I paid attention, and that seems to...
Don't start laughing yet. Hear me out. Then it's OK to laugh. Automakers love to move vehicles upscale. They get bigger, more content, more expensive. We saw this with the Honda Civic and Accord for example. We definitely saw it with Ford trucks - the Maverick is the size of a Ford F150 from my...
This isn't a thread about whether self driving is real or will be real (or when). That's politics and opinion, and please keep yours to yourself (as will I). It's a thread for the over 70 crowd about whether you would welcome a self-driving vehicle if it was safe and reliable and affordable...
I am proof that NHTSA pays attention when you take five minutes of your time to create an issue online. Some months ago I posted a report that my rear view camera was occasionally laggy. It sometimes didn't display for several seconds, and it sometimes froze for a second or two while backing up...
6 minutes in, for those able to bear it. At least the Maverick was second, not third. Actually the whole video is a pretty good overview of why JD Power isn't BS, and how everyone rated out there. Happy to see that Ford is not at the bottom - nicely in the middle.
Now clue all the denier...
I see so many threads about dashcams, and dashcam installs gone wrong. Makes me wonder why the heck OEMs don't offer dashcams as an option. I mean, it's another way to make money, right?
