Bold predictions have to be bold enough to generate widespread scorn and derision. Otherwise they're just not bold predictions.
My bold prediction #1 is that Ford overproduces the Maverick at Hermosillo, to the tune of 200,000 a year (cutting Bronco Sport to 100,000). Demand doesn't match supply, and Ford has to throw $1,500+ discounts on Lariats, $1,000+ on XLTs by summer.
My bold prediction #2 is that at not two, but three major OEMs show new Maverick competitors at auto shows before the year is out. They will be released in CY 2027 as MY 2028 vehicles. They will all be smaller than the Maverick.
My bold prediction #3 is that we start to see spy shots of the next generation PHEV or BEV Santa Cruz. And it will look like a conventional truck. Because "sports activity vehicle" just didn't fly in the USA marketplace.
