Most of maybe all Amsoil products they don't pay for the certifications, but they do ensure it meets or exceed specs for the certifications. They do publish all the specs if you want to compare for yourself, just click the links for tech bulletins under each product.
The plugs come with sealant on them from Ford and the service manual calls for replacing the drain plug every time. I've done mine on this truck (and plenty of other similar) and it doesn't have the "peeling off" look that the OP's does, it looks like teflon tape added to me. I could be wrong...
I like Amsoil products, have used them for many years, and have no interest in a debate as seems to sometimes happen with these threads, please don't do that. This is for information sharing purposes only.
Previously, Amsoil had recommended their Fuel Efficient Transmission fluid for the...
An 8.5" wide wheel is awfully wide for a 225 tire. The factory 19" wheel is only 7" wide. If you're willing/wanting another set of wheels, maybe purchase the big wheels that you want and put summer tires on them -- something like a 245 width tire or maybe more, and then take your OEM tires to a...
I had searched a while back when I first saw these coming up, and IIRC Putco is the OEM on these emblems and they are cheaper to buy direct from them (that was when I was looking at the F150's). Maybe they will also offer them direct for less as well. Not sure if the new emblems are the same...
At first I thought it was just a casting line, but when I clicked and enlarged the photo it does have the appearance of a crack. Still hard to tell from the photo. But I also noticed it looks like the fill plug there is not threaded in very far and appears to have teflon tape coming off of it...
The Forscan work would be in place of resistors like you put on your Caravan. It's either-or. Forscan is well documented a a piece of cake if you are familiar with computer work. It's literally a couple drop down menus to make the turn signals not hyperflash. You can do much more with it, but...
I'll make a quick guide - maybe save some trouble and encourage more people to buy a quality product even if it is a little more work. These are going to be the "mid-brightness" level for most, if you want brighter or dimmer you can still use this as a guide to find what you are looking for...
DD has all the bulbs (actually more), their website just isn't as friendly for finding by vehicle. Such a better product, I wish they would improve their website. But if you're willing to make a couple extra clicks...
The turn signals and the rear bulbs are all 3157 style (or they have the...
Family in AZ says they have been seeing truck after truck full of Mavs and lots of green ones. Going to be a very popular color! I like it myself and think with BAP it will look great.
Diode Dynamics has a full line of bulbs. I have replaced every incandescent bulb in my truck (even the sunvisor mirror lights!) with DD products and couldn't be happier.
You said you were "genuinely curious" and asked a question, and got an answer. Guess you weren't really curious, you were already an "expert" before, and just wanted a chance to puff your chest up or something? I'll just go back to helping people and you can do whatever it is you call what...
I think you already answered your own question. I would also add the ability to just use 6 quarts of oil vs. measuring and storing partial bottles. That's in the case of using the FL-1A sized filters, other sizes will not be the same
It's easy enough to check the settings on bypass valves. How...
