Wow this thread is full of misinformation. Awesome.
WTF good is it doing on a Maverick forum?
A clickbait youtube video about a non-Maverick issue; random CA insurance sidenote that sounds incorrect with no backing; can we get some vaccine advice next?
We own a Prius and Sienna :poop: - insert anteater meme here
The lesson I'm learning from this thread, is that the farther away you park, the more likely an idiot doesn't see your vehicle!
It's also much harder to flip a 2024 - the market is dropping for sure, so by the time you get your '24 hybrid built, it will be even lower - PLUS the 2024s have gone up substantially in MSRP vs 22 and even 23s.
Run five tanks, record your mpg, switch back, repeat. Try to keep driving style and temps similar. Repeat again and report back.
Never saw a diff for my vehicles, turbo, hybrid, NA. *shrug*
In another forum where someone was considering keeping the insurance payout vs getting their car fixed - my thoughts were:
If someone would pay me $1,000 to scratch my vehicle, I'd ask them how many scratches can they afford and to go right ahead.
I do care how my vehicles look, but in the end...
Is the almighty capitalism selfish or simply the free market doing what it does?
Can I rant at all the Boomers that "stole" all the cheap housing and good wages from the next generations?
Maybe we could all just drive fleet white XL hybrid Mavericks and live in a socialist utopia instead :-D
The more they supply, the lower the demand. Prices will drop.
Competition comes out, next shiny new toy grabs consumer attention - the Maverick is no longer the only/new hybrid compact truck and there goes the resale value. It's only a matter of time.
1 - you can't find a hybrid on a lot for MSRP
2 - as @olman said, anything listed under MSRP is just a dealer baiting and gaming the online searches to get you to contact them about a truck that they will not sell at that advertised price
oh and 3 - I "flipped" one b/c they messed up my Lariat...
CU rates are around 5% + too most likely
VMFXX - Vanguard Federal Money Market Account earns 5.25%
when your cash can earn the same rate as your car loan, that's a good indication of a fair loan rate.
Stick to 18s - cheaper wheels, cheaper tires, lighter, better mpg, better braking, etc
oh and better, balanced look on this truck
20s = :poop: (but that's just my opinion; well, plus all those facts above)
I've done this comparison with an Outback which was another vehicle we were interested in, and which has more cargo space than a Rav. Mav can come out ahead:
If you assume the rear seats of the Rav or Outback are laid flat and compare that to the Mav bed + rear cargo/seat area - it is very...
Agreed that at $935, it is a deal vs people shelling out $2500 for similar coverage! Those overpriced ones are where an owner "hopes" something goes wrong to get paid out and prove it was worth it lol
Remember, 100k / 10yr is really 64k / 7 yr extension vs the factory warranty.
Gotta love that sales pitch "You picked a great vehicle - these are just simply awesome - now how about spending $$$ more on a warranty for your new POS"
Agreed - some people are so concerned about the design of their taillights or grill, etc - yet I sure as heck can't see them when I'm behind the wheel or sitting in my house. I'm not one to sit in the driveway and stare at my vehicles.
