  1. Mesquite Canyon Road in Randsburg, CA

Oops - I misread Sherman Pass as SHERWIN Pass, which I am familiar with.
  2. CV Axle change Damage by dealer.

Unacceptable. Knowing correct procedures and having the correct tools is the main reason [besides this being a warranty claim] I would take a vehicle to the dealership. Thqnks for posting this. If/when I take my '24 hybrid in for that repair, I will take before photos. AND, I did not know...
  3. Proposed federal yearly fee for Hybrids

The history of a federal gas tax as I know it began in the Eishenhower era. His administration proposed it during the Cold War to fund a national highway system for defense purposes. At the time, all engines were ICE, gas and Diesel, a tax on fuel made sense and was pay as you go. A fuel tax...
  4. Mesquite Canyon Road in Randsburg, CA

Sounds like you are footloose and free. I am not surprised you were unable to make it through the some areas of the eastern Sierras as the snow remains at the higher elevations into late June. I know Sherwin Pass as Sherwin Summit on the I-395. The entire area is so fascinating. Endless side...
  5. Mesquite Canyon Road in Randsburg, CA

Great writeup and video for us So Cal folk who are familiar with the area. I only know Randsburg from passing through on the I-395. It is a fascinating former silver mining area. Looks like your Tremor was a perfect match to the off-road conditions. When you are looking for another similar...
  6. Trade in advice

If anyone is wondering, California taxes the full price of the vehicle purchase. There is no offset or reduced sales tax if you trade in a vehicle.
  7. Would You Buy Your Maverick Again?

Yes, assuming no other mfg has a similar size trucklet, I would buy a Mav Lariat hybrid again. I purchased a new '22 EB base Lariat off the lot in '22 as a placeholder for my ordered hybrid. Base = In '22 there was a lux pkg for the Lariat - mine didn't have that. The EB was spunky and got...
  8. Anyone buy out their lease?

I have not done it. Comparison shop. Ask them [your dealer] to itemize the fees and charges before you proceed. Then check with a credit union and ask what their interest rate and your payment would be. You don't need to use Ford financing to buy out your lease. The $$$ for the buyout can come...
  9. Working XLT Mav

I too am seeing a lot of Mavs used by companies. Several termite, pool service and handyperson XL's in the Depot parking lot every time I am there.
  10. 2025 Maverick Hybrid HF55 Transaxle Info (nice write up)

TRY THIS LINK - It does not go to the paywall: https://www.wired.com/story/first-drive-ford-maverick-hybrid-awd-the-pickup-way-more-americans-should-be-driving/
  11. Wind noise while driving

In addition to my previous response, I notice the noise seemingly comes from the area of the window and is more pronounced at 60mph and above. This leads me to believe it is related to the side mirror which is not at all aerodynamic. I have no fix to suggest. Also, when I added my side turn...
  12. Artificial stupidity

RE: You walk away and only the driver's door locks - do you actually hear the power lock mechanism activate? If not, and others have experienced this, it is easy to hit the lock lever located above the door release. I do it myself. As I pull on the door release my hand rolls to the left and...
  13. More info on doors locking!

Just to be clear, you are talking about the exterior door handle? On my '24 Lariat with proximity locking and the keyfob in my pocket, if I touch the chevrons on the door handle my truck locks. If I grasp the door handle my truck unlocks. There is a split second delay on the unlock, so I wait...
  14. 20,000 Miles on my 2024 and not one issue

Early production '24 Lariat hybrid, 11,000 miles, only issue was three software updates done in my driveway and sleepy battery that I intend to have Ford change. I enjoy driving it.
  15. What Add Ons have you Added to your Maverick?

Factory floor trays, tailgate damper, hood struts, black tailgate letters, debris plug for slot in tailgate, trailer hitch plug, side marker and turn indicators in fender logo using self-made wiring harness and GadCad amber lenses, console light plugged into USB port, black center dash trim for...
  16. 2025 Lariat bites a deer

David, I like your avatar showing what looks to be the GadCad amber lens. Did you do the wiring for the lighting as well? [I did the same lens and wiring on mine but not the badges. I wanted an OEM look]
  17. $24,950 SLATE Truck News & Info

I watched the video, did some searches etc. It sounds like this vehicle is exactly what some of the Luddites on the forum want - roll up windows, no screen, minimal electronics, customizable, built in the USA from parts sourced in the USA. The $20k price is predicated on the Federal incentive...
  18. My Maverick has been on Ramp 72 in Orillia Wa for 6 Weeks

Nice! I have an Oxford White 2024 Lariat hybrid and show 45.6 mpg. At last fill distance to empty was around 627 miles as I recall. Either way, be it km or mph, they are amazing.
  19. Normal, or unique?

I noticed the absence of the black applique in the early release photos of the 2025 models. It seems to be the case only on the XL's. If the photo above is your XL, that is the case as the 2025 XLT and Lariats I have seen have the black applique in that area.
  20. How to prevent less dust from getting into bed?

RE: Seal drain holes - I like all your suggestions except I would not seal the 10 drain holes permanently. I would place tape over them temporarily during an off-road trip.
