  1. Feels like a truck until…..

I've had both; 22 EB and now a 24 hybrid. Mileage in my EB was 32-33 hwy. The hybrid looses its comparative advantage if you mostly do hwy driving but still gets more hwy mpg than the EB. The EB may have an advantage passing on two lane roads. Since 70-80% of my driving is in San Diego I-5...
  2. no

My small local dealer, for whom I have no love, does say "synthetic blend" when it advertises it's oil changes. Even if I request full syn, I don't trust the tech to read the work order or care. Worse, they put the oil pan plug back before the pan is fully drained of the old oil. They don't...
  3. Radio default volume?

Me: 24 Hybrid Lariat Sync 3 = Mine does the same thing. No matter what level it is at when I shut down, upon start it is louder. On my other non-ford vehicles I could find a setting for default audio volume but not on my Mav. So I will follow this thread...
  4. Ford lighted door sills installed

Mav sill scuff plate is #VRL4Z-99132A08-A When you find the part, look carefully and you will find the installation instructions on the same screen.
  5. Ford lighted door sills installed

Uses a round pancake battery. When I purchased, I assumed it would wire into the footwell lights.
  6. Convince me to get bed liner spray in.

You can negotiate with LineX, Rhino etc. If there are several that offer it in your area, call them and offer cash, tell them the factory charges $495 and you will bring 5 one hundred dollar bills. I would skip the UV protection. As LineX ages, it dulls down. you can repair any spill with flat...
  7. What did you all cross shop Maverick with?

I don't belong to any auto mfg cult. Or political or religious cult. I've owned many brands. My needs were an open bed. I don't really tow or I would have kept my 2016 GMC Canyon V6 w/7k tow pkg that was taller than I liked and you had to climb into the bed or keep a croupier's stick to pull...
  8. Anyone try NAPA CV axle shafts?

Why don't you simply buy the current upgraded/revised parts from Ford and let the parts counter at your dealer determine the correct shaft for the left and right side and any associated parts based on your VIN?
  9. Tire Pressure

I am anal about TP and learned one side exposed to sun v. other side in shade will show a difference. So I check pressure first thing in the a.m. after truck has been sitting all night. I have seen a 3 lb difference sunny side v. shady side.
  10. Struggling with finding engine cover....

RE: Benefit of an engine cushion cover = On my 2022 2.0 EB [NOT a hybrid as is the subject of the OP] I was able to find and install a cover. It quieted the sound of the high pressure fuel system, especally when the engine was cold. I was able to spot a few 2.5L hybrid Escapes in wrecking...
  11. Tire Pressure

RE: Realized tp was off? = I had a 2022 EB Lariat so I was familiar and pleased with the ride. So when I drove my new 2024 hybrid Lariat off the lot, the seat of my pants feel said something wasn't right. I don't fuss with the setting while I drive, I waited until I got home and used my...
  12. Struggling with finding engine cover....

The OP apears to have a hybrid Mav. My guess is the ones for the 2.0 Nautilus, Bronco etc. don't fit the hybrid.
  13. Tire Pressure

My Mav was delivered with 44 psi which is what the factory sets it at. The dealer didn't catch it during the pre delivery inspection [PDI] It only took me less than a mile of driving home in my new truck to realize something was not right.
  14. Ford Maverick Tailgate Drops Too Hard? Here’s the EASY Fix!

The tailgate damper was the first mod I did. As others point out, usually hands are full of Depot crap or something that is too heavy to lift over a closed gate. The damper gives a feeling of quality and is well worth the cost.
  15. Battery - 12v. No start for the first time

The issue is largely in the hybrid version. Sure, the EB can have battery issues but the deep sleep and no start, and SSM related to an HVAC relay seems to be for hybrids. I could go out and buy an AGM battery. But other Fords use the same hybrid system and probably the same software and I am...
  16. Blocking the Heat in Style! | Sunshade for Ford Maverick 2024

I have a cheap two-piece sun shade where you place one side over the other and twist to fold. I store it between the passenger seat and the console. I have my passenger exit before I deploy it and wait a minute before entering so I can fold and stow. During the summer I always use it. It keeps...
  17. Best hood struts - recommendations?

I installed MRT hood struts. Not as easy as the video would have you believe. Difficult to keep hood in alignment. Almost got hood stuck closed but I was able to open it and readjust. I took the adhesive wrap off the struts that said "MRT". I sprayed the brackets [not the struts] body color...
  18. Is the Mav the best vehicle and value you have ever owned - hybrid only responses.

Me: 2024 hybrid Lariat, now 13k miles. Well designed, great fuel economy, versatile, nice driving but the quirks in the software and electrical gremlins don't bode well for long term ownership. And Ford dealers are the worst I've ever dealt with. My favorite truck was my RWD 2006 GMC Canyon...
  19. Battery - 12v. No start for the first time

THANK YOU! This is EXACTLY the type of info I am looking for. Good to know that the SSM53801 update at least didn't have unintended consequences. My Mav goes in tomorrow 8/7/25 for the issue. Dealer says they need it overnight to diagnose. Color me skeptical it takes 24 hr.
  20. Battery - 12v. No start for the first time

SSM is Fordspeak for "special service message" SSM 53801 which I referenced in my original post refers to an SSM that was intended to fix the 12 v. battery drain in hybrids. Apparently Ford thought they had identified the battery drain. Ford thought it was related to software installed in the...
