  1. What was the first thing you bought for your Maverick?

Tailgate damper. Black tailgate letters. Plastic cover for the rectangular hole in the bottom of the tailgate. Simple black plug for the hitch. Black trim piece around the dash radio knobs, hood struts; amber side marker and turn signal lenses from GADCAD3 for the side logo. Still in the box...
  2. Is The Maverick A Good Buy? Getting Cold Feet

Over the years I've had several small trucks. `81 Nissan King Cab 5 speed; '95 Chevy S10 HO V6 standard cab 4wd; '06 GMC Canyon Xcab 4 cyl; '16 GMC Canyon Xcab V6; '22 Mav Lariat EB while I waited for my '24 Mav Lariat hybrid. The hybrid is my favorite, does everything I need while getting 45...
  3. No card slit in console.

I use the slit for my credit card when I queue for gas at Costco. I put the credit card back in the slit after filling so I don't waste time fumbling with my wallet while others are waitng. Although there is also a clip on the sun visor that serves the same purpose.
  4. Hybrid Battery Seemed to Stop Working on Drive Home Today

RE: OBD II logger = excellent suggestion! The dealer should be able to provide one to the OP. [I had a Chrysler minivan that intermittently would loose power, they let me run with an OBD II logger and found the crank angle sensor tested good but had an intermittent glitch during actual use]
  5. Did some work today

Although I have never owned a vehicle w/Cummins Diesel I agree 110% that my Mav hybrid does the majority of what I need while displaying 47+mpg doing it, [probably closer to 45+ if I adjust the engineering test mode to reflect calculated mpg] Regarding hauling mulch, did you get the cover for...
  6. ACCM update SSM53801 did not work in my case for Deep Sleep

Re: Qualify for the SSM? = Special service message is similar to a Technical service bulletin. I just called & told my selling dealer I experienced deep sleep, referenced the SSM and they made an appointment. Note that I canceled it b/c of posts saying in so many words it was hit or miss. But...
  7. ACCM update SSM53801 did not work in my case for Deep Sleep

Me - 2024 Lariat FWD hybrid 12k miles: Based on the experiences reported here, I cancelled my appointment to address deep sleep until there are more consistent success stories. The glass half full part is my Mav always starts so a few lights that don't shine when they should isn't a deal...
  8. Does the A/C in the 2024 Mav Lariat actually get cold?

Me: 24 hybrid Lariat and yes, the AC gets really cold. Be sure to select the button to have the air come out the dash vents as opposed to the floor. It is also dual so see that both sides are set to a low temp setting.
  9. WAIT on Hybrid Battery drain update

It is SSM 53801 2022-2025 hybrid Mavs. I had an appointment to have it done this morning, Tues 6/10/25 but based on this post, I will cancel my service appointment. My Mav always starts, it's just the various interior and exterior lights don't come on. Not tragic. Thanks for the heads up.
  10. Dealer Oil Change

RE: Deep sleep issue for the hybrid applies to "some" Mavs built on or before 17 Feb 2025. It is SSM 53801 2022-2025 Maverick hybrid 12 volt Battery Drain. I'm taking my 24 hybrid in for that today, Tuesday. Fingers crossed.
  11. Need Advice After Ford Dealer did BAD WORK on my Maverick

I am reading this on the morning I am scheduled to take my '24 hybrid in for the battery sleep issue. I am very sorry you are going through this. Obviously you take pride in your vehicle. Sadly, if the dash noise was like the one in my '22 EB, they didn't need to take off the entire dash. The...
  12. 1,000 Mile Road Trip SoCal <—> NorCal

Everyone said what needs to be said about the Mav and the trip. I want to say congratulations to the graduate. Road trips are definitely fun.
  13. Making due with less

I use the pass through rear window all the time for long material. The one caution for everyone is not to rest your load on the glass. Normally I use a foam yoga block and rest material on that. Spanning the bed with 2X's is a good solution and I will use it.
  14. How to order a 2025 Lariat AWD Hybrid

Did you use the Ford website-->trucks and vans-->Maverick-->Search inventory. If you X out the default 20 miles radius you will get more choices. Scroll down and choose the model you want on the left. Alternatively, build and price what you want, then select view inventory. Expand the distance...
  15. Brand New '25 Lariat Hybrid Already Almost a Lemon - Recurrent Powertrain Malfunction

First, sorry you are having a bad experience. Lemon laws in each state are different. You must follow the process exactly because there are "gottcha's" built in. Even if today you don't intend to use the Lemon law but think you might in the future, document and follow the process, time periods...
  16. Feeling like the bed is well equipped and useful..

RE: Bed is useful = I use my truck bed to haul things, tools, bags of garden products, etc. Of all the trucks I have owned, beginning with a used 1981 Nissan 5 speed extended cab. a used 1995 Chevy single cab S10 4wd with high output V6, a new 2006 GMC Canyon 4 cyl extended cab, a new 2016 GMC...
  17. First road trip - '24 XLT Hybrid - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.

Hammerhead, you mentioned dust in the bed even with a bed cover. In addition to seals for the tailgate, look at the seam along the side where the bed meets the side/wheel wells. On my '22 and '24 I could see the ground below the truck. I sealed the seam on both sides the entire length of the...
  18. Strip for tailgate/bed gap?

I purchased the plastic insert, can't recall from which of multiple vendors. But you can save $$ and make a "redneck" cover using duct tape or similar tape and get the same results. Speaking of gaps, a concern with the first gen Mav was the gap between the floor of the bed and the sides. I...
  19. Mesquite Canyon Road in Randsburg, CA

So much to see, so little time. Yes, both look beautiful.
  20. Mesquite Canyon Road in Randsburg, CA

I only know the Sherwin Summit on the 395 just north of the town of Bishop, CA. It is a 6% climb from Bishop/Owens River Valley up to Crowley Lake. As I wrote, this and the entire Eastern Sierra is a fascinating area with an interesting history based on mining. The 1974 film "Chinatown"...
