Correct. Toyota AWD hybrids use rear electric motors and only lose ~1-2 mpg vs non-AWD models. 1 mpg city for 2022 Escape https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymodel/2022_Ford_Escape.shtml

Sienna engine only produces 189 HP. So Mav hybrid should be fine with 3k pounds if we assume it translates linearly. But... random search on Google tells me that a 1995 Explorer with only 160 HP could tow 3500 lbs. (edit - scratch that - with factory tow package, up to 5k lbs it seems. Same...

They're both 2.5L hybrids (and both Atkinson I believe) with an eVCT. My Mav feels way peppier than our Sienna, thanks to 1k less lbs to haul around too. (0-60 times seem about identical though - maybe the AWD helps off the line) HP isn't the main reason for tow ratings, also, it seems.
  8. Kelly tires

I'd never buy tires at a dealer unless they have a really good special running. Discount/America's Tire, Cosco, SamsClub or a smaller local shop that is good will match those places. Probably just missed out on all the Memorial Day discounts. You're in CA - we don't really get summer rains...

Our Sienna AWD hybrid can tow 3500 lbs + a 4600 lb minivan around. Mav weighs 1k lbs less than the Sienna. 4k tow seems completely doable.

  19. Save 40% on Ford Accessories! Ends May 13th

You twos are the reason that these "shell games" can exist. When I maintained (mainly oil changes) more vehicles, I would find all the oil deals out there and stock up. Used to get full synthetic oil for free many, many times. Gotta play the rebate game, but it pays to play sometimes. Free...
  20. Rant: interior plastic is going to look horrible in a few years

My $24.5k XL was rear ended after a month (and the day after I waxed it). I would have been much more PO'd if it was a 45k+ vehicle. I was upset, but mainly b/c I knew it'd be in the shop for quite a while and now has an accident on the record. Uninsured motorist - fully covered with $0 out of...
